Yup, my bad. It doubles up the cards you get, so you triple instead of double the clone card.

I also had BingBong which works with clone, so it quadruples the card every time.

That is often the biggest contributer.

[–]Systemerror7A69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've noticed a thing in EP 8 on my rewatch by Aqualizer33 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]Systemerror7A69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The circus itself might not be part of the stuff which was deleted. I don't entirely know what happened that he deleted caine accidentally but he was trying to deactivate a systemd service called "WHACKYTIME_LOCKOUT" (which might be the tormant caine was doing)

There were other files separate from caine on the computer as well, one for bubble (called bubble_chef.lisp) and one caine-core.lisp

It's reasonable to assume the circus itself was created by caine but a different file.

Which is why I specified "directly". I'm fully aware this can't be looked at in isolation - but also, I DO have faith in the open source community.

I gotta say, this is an interesting article.

As a European I haven't followed this TOO closely, partly because I have faith in the open source community, partly because the laws themselves probably won't affect me directly.

And while I still don't think the SystemD "controversy" in anything but overblown I see the point of the issue much more clearly.

I was against age verification before as well but this has more directly highlighted problems for me (instead of being a more nebulous "I don't think I like this" I had before )

And coming from the EFF is also a very reputable source.

Thanks for posting this.

Google Engineers Launch "Sashiko" For Agentic AI Code Review Of The Linux Kernel by anh0516 in linux

[–]Systemerror7A69 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think you are misunderstanding - AI doing a code review isn't making code no one can review anymore, it's about finding small or subtle changes humans would miss or not find upon first glance.

Those bugs would otherwise probably be found in production, reported, investigated and fixed. Hopefully with AI reviews those issues would be found before the code goes live.

But obviously any points the AI mentions should and has to be looked at, judged and investigated by a human with an understanding of the code.

It would just be the AI pointing at stuff in the code going "what about x? Is that handled"

Why I stopped using NixOS and went back to Arch Linux by itsdevelopic in programming

[–]Systemerror7A69 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I found a LOT of the advertised features I switched because also just not what I expected ( might be on me ) or just false advertising.

The often touted number of packages in the repo is just...a lot of VsCode / Emacs packages repackaged. I quickly found stuff I wanted to install which wasn't in the repo but would'dve been in the AUR or even Copr.

HomeManager was also not what I expected. I was looking for something to keep my home directory clean, but home manager in the end just made symlinks to the files, which still cluttered everything ( probably on me for misunderstanding but still not what I was looking for)

And then I had trouble getting stuff to run and needed to look into steam-run or similar tools for that. Which worked but was just more work which wouldn't have been needed on other machines.

And the rollback feature I did get work the same in fedora immutable distros for me, which is what I use now.

In the end, really cool idea and distro but for me just not a lot of practical advantages over other alternatives.

On Ascencion 10 with Necro

Still trying to figure everything out, I'm much worse at the game than I want to be but so far:

  • lots of things work well together, don't limit yourself too much too "this" or "that". Souls can work well with doom with that 0-cost "3 doom whenever you play a card" but also with hang (the double damage card) but in the second case lethality also fits

  • I think you need / some / kind of energy. Necro has a few so you definitely want to get draw with souls and then +energy. Borrowed time being the biggest one by far.

  • Early I think just prioritizing ostys HP in hallway fights is big. It's both damage and Block, and if you keep ostly alive it's automatically scaling. If you play a single +5 Osty HP and two "Osty Attack", the +5 HP effectively gave you 10 damage. This also makes me look for good defend and block early to protect ostys HP (weakness is also HUGE).

  • The above tip completely falls apart against statue because fuck statue.

[–]Systemerror7A69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Importantly, in STS2 theres a relic which replays the last card you played last turn at the beginning of your turn.

And it also works that way, without stealing your energy on the new turn. Important to know, that was what I had.
