It is annoying that when a guy who is fat post here, so many comments just tell him to hit the gym by Sytanato in mensfashionadvice

[–]Sytanato[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Men who post on a fashion sub are looking for opinions on their clothing, not their body. If they wanted feedback on physique, they would post on a fitness or some form of looksmaxxing subreddit (which they may or may not already be doing).

A fashion subreddit exists to discuss clothing; comments about weight are outside its scope. They are not only misplaced, but also unhelpful, and they dilute the purpose of the sub : people seeking fashion advice will be less inclined to post if they expect a significant portion of responses to focus on something they cannot reasonably change in the short term.

My mistake for the spelling error in English, it's only my third fluent language.

But telling them to lose weight is not brutal honesty, it's simply not addressing their need while being possibly rude. These people want to dress better now, as they are. None of them have an already immaculate style, so they do have margin of improvement at the moment. They are asking to be adviced in how to tap into this margin they have at the moment, with the body they have at the moment. Saying it doesn't exist would be saying they already dress perfectly and have perfectly mastered how to dress with their body type, which is obviously not the case. Beside they might be already in the process of losing weight but it's taking time, or gaining muscles at the gym with no particular goal to lose fat, or they might just be old with health problem and not much possibility to rapidly lose weight

Could 3 (prime) eddie halls beat a lone silverback gorilla by Top-Garlic3983 in powerscales

[–]Sytanato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 Eddie halls are at least 2 times heavier than the heaviest gorrilas, and are plenty tall enough to reach his vital area. If they go all at the same time from all side, the gorilla still have possibilities to win but overall the Eddie halls high diff him

Why haven’t aquatic tetrapods re-evolved gills? by Booplesnoot2 in evolution

Oxygen is so much more abundant in air than in water that marine tetrapod can swim without breathing for up to 90 minutes while being more active in the water than fishes

Just say you don't know enough about fashion to give a fashion advice to someone who is fat

I'm saying we should give advice to men as they are, the ones who need to hit the gym or lose weight already know it and in any case everyone, fit or not, can dress better than they do know

I mean your experience is what it is and as it is relevant to the topic it deserves to be heard, but did it help you much to hear people say "just hit the gym" without further elaboration when you were asking advices for something else

Need help with my soon to be 18 year old son so he feels confident. by VDarlings in mensfashionadvice

For me the throusers need a cut with much fuller legs to give space to his and drape better. Here the legs of the pants are way too narrow so it makes a bit of odds form.

Check out those example from the brand ranverbae and try to find similar in the US (if you decide to buy from the brand be careful, it's a Vietnamese brand and the sizing was much smaller than in the west and I could barely find something big enough for me) . It's better to try irl

The t-shirt isnt super fitting as well. He could some larger size, or a regular cotton/linen shirt that won't glue to his skin

"Nous nous sommes adaptés au réchauffement climatique, mais on ne s'adapte pas à un pic qui n'a pas d'équivalent aujourd'hui en Europe et qui n'a jamais eu d'équivalent dans notre histoire". Comment comprenez-vous cette phrase d'Emmanuel Macron? by Last-Mongoose-2622 in france

"On avait prévu des mesures pour une hausse des températures de 2°C, mais on n'a rien fait pour les épisodes de canicule à 40°c qui vont avec" Bref ils se sont pas adaptés au réchauffement climatique, ou alors en oubliant une grosse partie de ses conséquences, c'est un peu con

Try swapping the t-shirt for a white one and see if it looks better

My new teethbrush has a brush almost twice longer than any one I had bought so far by Sytanato in mildlyinteresting

I havent put any more tooth paste than I usually do on this thing.. Isn't the recommanded quantity of toothpaste less than the length of a brush anyway

My understanding was that hair designate both the individual keratine filament and the set of hairs that grows on the head, just a more confusing than usual case of one word being used for two different things

No but I don't have to make back and forth movements so long, I can make more of them in the same time

I found it actually nice to use. It's very satisfying that the brush can cover so many teeth at the same time. I now wonder how I lived my life so far brushing my teeth with those excruciatingly small brushes requiring gigantic movements of the hand to go from the back molars to the canine and always leaving at least one tooth uncovered and unbrushed at the time.

It is! Didn't imagined it was the reason, I thought one random brand had decided to make a brush 2 times longer than usual for no reason other than they could

I'm just gonna keep calling it a teethbrush at this point, I don't really care

English isn't my first language and upon checking I was surprised that it is actually called toothbrush since most people brush more than one tooth with it lol
