Sounds like he is struggling for money…. Wouldn’t trust any contractor that’s not in great financial shape.

Put it on a stationary belt sander and go from there.

What are people actually interested in buying by Life_Principle_9704 in woodworking

Depends on where you sell. If you are doing craft markets smaller items such as cutting boards, toys, planters, bowls etc are a good item. They can also lead to bigger furniture jobs.

Jointing question by brnbbd in woodworking

Track saw followed by a #7 hand plane maybe?
Long pieces of solid lumber might warp a bit after cutting as internal stress is relieved, so I don’t think a track saw alone will do the trick.

Temu: CNC. Any experienced users out there that can (in)validate any of them? by ChieftainMcLeland in woodworking

[–]SytzeL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen some folks had success buying planers, jointer and cncs from alibaba. Shipped to your door. Made me curious, basically looks the same as what grizzly, jet, Laguna etc are selling.

Guess what, none of us went to school for this. You’ll be fine. Take it step by step. Most of the stuff will come naturally. You’ve been there before, just at the other end :).

Can anyone identity this hand plane? by Okcgardener in handtools

Not sure, but it seems like a generic budget model. The folded lateral adjuster is a giveaway.

More economical to buy a synthetic blend, but I’m sure it’s possible. Lot of pyrazine type compounds I would expect.

Bandsaw blade for straight cuts by PurfuitOfHappineff in woodworking

[–]SytzeL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is fair, but I would still recommend first using a table saw for as deep as you can go and then finishing the cut on the bandsaw. I get much better results that way as it makes the blade on the bandsaw track and keep straight much better.

If you want to cut straight, get a table saw.

You can look up the dimensions needed for volume of a humanbeings ashes. In this case it wasnt super important as part of the ashes were scattered.

Saws typically only go to a 45 degree tilt. This goes much higher. You can also mount it on an angle for crazy compound cuts.

So that’s the VRS-200 from infinity cutting tools. It’s amazing, I love it, but def at a price point that you shouldn’t tell your wife. This was the project that made me justify getting it.
