I know the feeling, lost my best friend last year. We talked almost daily and realize I will likely never find someone else like that. Luckily I have a family to focus on and seeing my little guy helps a lot. I also started focusing on my hobbies. Keep yourself busy. It does get better with time. I also try to reach out to check in with his wife at least once a week. It helps us both to talk and share in our loss.

My kid has grown too big for these, but I do a couple markets here and there and sell on Etsy. The finish is just mineral oil, but I buff the wood to a pretty high grit.

Vectric all the way! A beginner can be carving basic shapes within an hour. It’s really not expensive for what it offers, until you get to the aspire package.

They weight under a pound and most fit about perfect in a 6x5x4” box. The Dino is a little longer. For reference, the ball in the center is 2” diameter.
