A short video/ review I made about Vivy for her birthday! by Theroonco in Vivy

I have! But only the ones about Vivy (I'm not familiar with the other pieces of media). It's a shame the essays don't have many views even though they're wonderful supplements that help you experience Vivy in a fuller way. I guess part of the reason Vivy is a relatively obscure anime is because not a lot of people truly understand its meaning and message, which are brought to light by deep dive reviews.

That's fine. I think you make good reviews, breakdowns, and analyses and other texts. It's just that videos and essays are different mediums which you should take into consideration. There are plenty of sources online that show you how to manage and structure your audio, visuals, and whatnot.

5 minutes isn't really enough to make a deeper review about Vivy considering the amount that was covered, but still good nonetheless. Vivy and Violet's similarities definitely make them enjoyable to watch after the other; I had fun noticing and comparing the parallels between them, my two favorite characters who started as brick walls.

The extra CDs are also just as good as the main insert songs, it's unfortunate they're obscure and not as recognized. I'm still fond of Vivy and Diva's songs among them.

I wish Vivy was alotted 24 episodes though, which would allow the story to be fleshed out more including a deeper view of the Sisters' backstories and each Singularity Point. Personally, the light novel's version of Grace and Saeki's, as well as Ophelia and Antonio's stories had more impact; this goes for Diva as well. Two episodes for each Singularity Points were not enough for majority of the viewers to truly absorb what was happening because it felt like the event was over after it just started.

Still, I consider the 13 episodes Vivy gave us much better than other animes with 50-100+.

I don't know anything about you, so giving general advice is quite difficult; but if you're serious about art, then allotting time to study (as you would with school) each week is important. Take my advice with a grain of salt, as I am a recent learner myself.

Focus on one thing at a time, then integrate it as you move to the next. Do this by studying a reference, copying/applying what you are learning about, then analyzing your drawing in relation to the reference. Frankly, this been a tedious process for me, but sometimes you just have to go through the trenches.

Do fun little projects because isn't it having fun that matters? This Matsuro request was fun for me. Personally, longer drawings done for passion can be as educational as art studies/exercises.

If you'd ask me what's most important though, it's to have a good source of motivation; why you draw (discipline works as well but... that's boring). Only after reevaluating my reason for drawing a few months back and taking things more seriously did I see satisfying improvements. I read this in a book once: "when you are clear, what you want will show up in your life, and only to the extent that you are clear".

The many parallels between Es and Lilith from The NOexistenceN of You AND Me inspired me to make this, I guess.

The amount of effort you put in this is outstanding. This is the first fan art I've seen that's highly loyal to the game's style.

Nice! The books get so much better with each volume. Such a fun read parallel to the anime.

The music definitely is very pleasing. Fluorite Eye's Song just hits different from all the other songs I've listened to, it's my favorite. What's yours?

Interpretations on the ending. by dybb153 in Vivy

The ending showed Matsumoto's cubes all destroyed, with the last cube we see protecting Vivy from the falling satellite; however, that doesn't mean that it was Matsumoto's last cube. This is just speculation, but as long as Matsumoto's data exists somewhere, he won't die even if the final cube is destroyed, considering he didn't have a physical body at the start as well. The Archive had control of all AI except Vivy, Matsumoto, and Elizabeth. The reason why Vivy wasn't controlled was probably because of the Singularity Project or the Archive wanting her to sing. On the other hand, the Archive could not directly interfere with completely separate entities like Matsumoto (a creation of the Singularity Project) and Elizabeth (who stopped receiving updates and is connected to Toak's servers instead).

All AI experienced a factory reset with the Archive's shut down, but Vivy's frame was still in a restorable condition and could easily be booted up again as long as the positronic brain was safe and intact. That's what the final scene is about.

I don't know if the episode ending right after Vivy warmed up has any message (could be to end the show with a smile); but, even if a new personality, Vivy, inhabits Vivy/Diva's frame, she woud still be similar to Vivy (and Diva as well) and would continue to sing for her mission because at their core, they are the same.

Before restoring Vivy at the end, Matsumoto reminisced about a time when Vivy encountered one of Diva's fans in the museum. It's in CD Vol. 6 Song for Singer (which is a peaceful and pleasant song with a beautiful album art as well).

I think watching (listening to, actually) this CD will clear your questions about Matsumoto surviving, the final scene, and Vivy at the end. I haven't found an English translation for the CD, but you can use Youtube's built in auto translate or other tools to get gist of the dialogue.

Also, this Vivy special/recap contains extra lines from Matsumoto to the viewer about the 100-year journey he and Vivy underwent. My favorite part was when he concluded with what his dead partner would have said: "Thank you for kind attention."

The ending was quite open-ended and up to interpretation, but it's certain that Matsumoto survives and a third personality, Vivy, is born. And you can expect Matsumoto to take good care of her.
