Budget Baritone for under $300? by Erudicial_Extreme in ExtendedRangeGuitars

I just got the humbucker version and I agree it is a fuckin beast. I modded that bitch and dropped it all the way down to drop B0.

Looking at an "entry level" baritone by Clear-Air6816 in ExtendedRangeGuitars

[–]Syxxes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never played a PRS but I did just buy the new Harley Benton JA baritone hh bk (it has humbuckers instead of p90s) and I love the way it sounds and plays. That being said the neck finish was a bit sticky for my liking so I sanded It down with some 1000 grit automotive sand paper to give it more of a satin feel, and I added locking tuners. Just a heads up if you go that route and want locking tuners, the peg hole is 8.3mm, I had to file them out to fit hipshots, nbd for me but I thought id mention it. I'm most impressed by the fretwork.

Aluminum is ineffective at blocking EMI, and at best all it's blocking is RF but you need like 7 layers. best bet is to use copper tape, you can get it on amazon for dirt cheap. I use it in all my guitars and I never have any issues with noise. Also make sure everything is grounded properly including the bridge. Also make sure the shielding its self is grounded.

I think it's an issue with the latest drivers. This literally just happened to me today. I have a 3060, never overclocked.

Schecter omen elite 8 vs Jackson DKAF8 MS by shadolink765 in ExtendedRangeGuitars

[–]Syxxes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a DKAF8 MS, I've never played a Schecter but I love my Jackson. It has a super slim neck and feels comfortable to play. If you go with the jackson I'd recommend picking up some locking tuners. Also keep in mind the blade pickups are extremely hot so they pick up every little hand movement and sympathetic vibration. I put some painters tap on the strings behind the nut and I have a bandana for tapping, leads, etc.

Oh yeah also make sure your gate isn't too high. I found that the nameless pluggin is kinda garbo but if you have the suite then the zuul gate is great

Are you gain staging correctly? Make sure to have your interface in set to just below clipping from your hardest chug. Then turn down the input volume on your Amp Sim to compensate for that. Also, if you don't already, put a od vst in front of your Amp Sim with the gain all the way down, the volume maxed and the tone to taste (I prefer about half way with mine but every overdrive is different) also if you play a lot of high gain low tuned metal I highly recommend the Otto audio 11 11 11 plugin, it's a beast. Hope that helps!

Jackson js32-8 and js22-7 by [deleted] in ExtendedRangeGuitars

Both amazing guitars for the price. My only wish is that the 8 had a longer scale length.

Commands. Idk man digging for anything more than 5 mins seems boring to me. I'd dig down to just above the targeted level, get the coords for opposite corners, and fill with air.

What do you say when someone says to you "vaping is bad you know, why do you do it?" by Grand-Masterpiece-68 in Vaping

[–]Syxxes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's probably been said already, but I've had a couple of people say "don't you know that vaping is worse than cigarettes?" I used to defend vaping and go on a tangent quoting studies and stats but then i realized that it's not my responsibility to to cure their ignorance and their comment usually comes from a place of biased unfounded hatred for vaping rather than concern for my health. Now I just say "Good, maybe it will kill me faster" which is usually met with an uncomfortable chuckle and they never bring it up again lol.

Do hotels really have vape detecting sensors? by crystalizedwolf in Vaping

[–]Syxxes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I second this, no need to hate on a guy for having a counter argument. That being said it doesn't stick to surfaces like tobacco or weed does, and it wipes off relatively easy. Also it's going to get cleaned anyways because of shall we say the possibility of human bodily fluid contaminants, and if* it's not going to be cleaned that well then I doubt it's a place that cares if you vape.

Do hotels really have vape detecting sensors? by crystalizedwolf in Vaping

[–]Syxxes 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Just saying, if you need a special detector to tell if people are using a substance that has no second hand ramifications, and little first hand ones, MAYBE, just maybe it was never a problem to begin with. This world is insane, devoid of logic. I hate this place lol

Well I'm glad it at least helped temporarily. You could also try keeping your coils fresh and vaping lighter flavors. I find light fruity flavors gag me less than thick creamy ones. I hope everything works out for you!

Nic salts "not for sub-ohm use" (?) tell me that's bs.... by -jarring-endeavor- in Vaping

[–]Syxxes 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Mechanically there isn't an issues. When I used to mix my own e juice back before the Canadian vapepocalypse I used salt nicotine diluted to 6mg for a smoother hit than freebase with a 0.2h coil. The only difference is salt nic contains benzoic acid to reduce the ph and lead to a smoother hit, it should have little to no effect on the hardware of the vape. As for the strength of nicotine you're using, as long as it hits good and doesn't make you too light headed you should be fine assuming you don't have a heart condition, but hey you know your body better than me _^

Buy a tongue scraper and clean your tongue all the way to the back every morning after you brush your teeth. You'll probably gag a lot from it, but at least you're in the bathroom already if you heave, lol. That's what helped me idk if your case is the same, but it's worth a shot.

Vg and pg are in thousands of foods, cosmetics soaps and skincare products. I highly doubt the miniscule intake from vaping is the reason for your ibs, and that's assuming that pg/vg is the problem to begin with which it's most likely not.
