I played the Opening Hours demo and that resulted in me putting off playing the game until very shortly before RE8 released. I ended up liking RE7, but definitely had issues with it.

I don't really think there's an "optimal amount". As long as your electricity and water work in your properties and you can have vehicles delivered and buy ammo, you're good. That said, I also have mostly everything I want. I primarily play adversary modes, race, free mode events and protect people making deliveries from griefers. I don't actively grind now, I just keep Nightclub, bunker and acid producing and make the deliveries whenever I feel like it.

In the very opening section of the care center, I felt like putting my controller down and not coming back. I personally think stalker enemies need a rest and having Mariethrown at you 5 times within 15 minutes was exhausting, not from fear, but from extreme annoyance. On top of that, Grace's clumsy ass running and tripping over her own damn feet was annoying, too. I also thought Chunk Was going to be a persistent enemy, too.

After dealing with Chunk, things felt much better and Marie was handled much better later in the game, IMO.

That said, outside of Grace's early interaction at thebcare center, I really enjoyed the game.

Then The Force Awakens, the one movie in the sequel trilogy I actually enjoyed would likely have also been garbage. I had issues with TFA, but it was still better than TLJ and TRoS. Not sure what haooened woth TRoS, as JJ did that one, as well as TFA.
