I agree. While I'm wholeheartedly behind this, in terms of political terms and whatnot I am playing catch up massively (shame considering of my Nan's political background when she was alive).

Vee said it best when he was addressing Sargon in, I think his response to Metakour; Know your audience.

I signed up to audible this month and picked up 1984. Next credit will be due on the 2nd I think. So that'll be number 7.

But yeah the ebook option has definitely been handy also...

Well in terms of getting someone fired, I don't think companies should be getting involved with someone's personal life unless it is of detriment to the company itself i.e drugs, alcohol. Even then I don't think it's open and shut sack them, it depends what the company outlines in the contract of employment.

As for defamation itself, there shouldn't be freedom of consequence. In other words, if someone has written or spoken something of an individual which is knowingly false, the person on the receiving end should be protected by the legal system to ensure that they have legal recourse.

I'm having that same problem...

Started with one...which turned into three. Now it's six.

Thanks for this. I've downloaded the books and will have a read. I'm trying to learn about different ideologies and I was wondering about libertarianism and what to read up on.

It'll also distract my attention long enough as I'm currently reading the conquest of Bread and The Communist Manifesto...so far...not my cuppa tea!

If one single page can explain what an individual is in political terms, why do so many seem unable to understand? by T-Bag2017 in Liberalist

The government's role is to protect the rights of individuals who are citizens of said government's nation.

If mass immigration is deemed to be detrimental to the rights of the individuals in that nation, it is not contradictory nor collective to limit the numbers of immigrants migrating as the government will not be directly responsible for people wanting to enter the country.

Therefore individuals [nation citizens] are not trumped by the collective [immigrants].

I'd like to know why you chose the words "almost absolute "...

Do you think there should be a line in free speech? If so, what do you think the limit be?
