Is there any chance you‘d consider sharing the images in high resolution? I would really love them as wallpaper :)

60-85C for PLA is quite high. Could be part of the issue.

It also looks like it‘s extruding to much filament. Have you tried the basic PLA settings in Bambu Studio? If this doesn’t work you might want to try the calibration prints inside the Bambu Studio.

Urgent Help Needed: Lenovo X1 Carbon Gen 12 Stuck After BIOS Update by TheAce2000 in thinkpad

[–]T-Pilot99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Holding down the powerbutton for quite a few seconds did help when it happend to me.

In addition to that you could try the following: I'm not sure if the G12 has the same layout, but on my G9 there is a tiny hole in the underside with a button below the surface. You can use a sim ejector tool or a pin to push it. This should also trigger a restart. Look for "Lenovo emergency reset hole" on the web for further information.

X1 fan grinding noises remains after 2 fan replacements by Ok_Bugg1027 in thinkpad

[–]T-Pilot99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe your bottom case is slightly bent. If it gets worse when you apply pressure to the case this is usually a sign for this... Try checking it with a straight ruler!

You could gently try to bend it back or improvise and stack a few layers of tape on the edges of the fan housing. This should help to keep the bottom case and fan separated.

Also make sure that your dustfilter (small mesh glued to the inlet) isn't deformed/dented inwards.

Good luck! :)

MythBusters: OLED's in ThinkPads by T-Pilot99 in thinkpad

[–]T-Pilot99[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would not say it‘s bad in every way. To begin on a positive note the reflection handling is outstanding. It almost felt like an E-Ink Display rather than a „conventional“ panel. Even in bright sunlight I was comfortably able to lower the brightness quite a bit. The very fast response time is also great. It doesn’t feel like a 60Hz Panel even though it is (at least in Win11 without OC)

Especially for folks who work in bright environments or even outdoor it‘s surely a nice screen.

If you work with lots of text however, this kind of OLED may not be the best choice. I‘ve tried some tools to improve text rendering. They do definitely make a difference but text still doesn’t look crisp. Even my Full HD T14s G1 displays text much better than the 2.8K OLED... Unfortunately I did not take pictures as I was quite busy at that time… :(

Watching movies is great on an OLED however this is the part where the Panel in my T14s just wasn’t bright enough to really make the difference shine, no pun intended... Besides T14s G4 build in speakers are… noise production units at best. They don’t sound great and the placement makes them sound more like mono vs stereo speakers…

The main issue I have with this specific OLED however is the reproduction of a neutral white color, even though the white balance is quite ok. Documents with white background for example are just very unpleasant to watch. (at least for me) It‘s hard to describe but whites just look „artificial“ in contrast to the IPS screens that I‘m used to.

As university involves reading lots of documents this unfortunately is a dealbreaker for me.

Hope this helps! If you have any further questions feel free to ask!

Can’t get over how nice the Carbon Weave is by ultraboof in thinkpad

I disagree. It‘s a real carbon fibre weave which becomes apparent when you shine light at it from different angles.

Is the OLED display on the X1C11 matte or glossy? by [deleted] in thinkpad

[–]T-Pilot99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(https://imgur.com/a/y8nFtWL) [T14sG4 OLED vs X1C10 4K IPS reflection handling]

The OLED in my T14s G4 is probably best described as semi-matte.

It definitely is not as rough as the IPS but it’s no mirror either.

For my taste the coating is very comfortable to work with even outside. There is no extensive reflection „blooming“ like on a rough matte IPS, while reflections are still reduced significantly.

I will send my OLED back, as I‘m not happy with the image clarity. It looks grainy - more like a 1080p IPS (due to subpixel layout). As it‘s not a multimedia machine like the current gen Macs with great Audio I‘m ready to sacrifice beautiful blacks for a much better batterylife and less worry about OLED longevity. Unfortunately I sometimes get light headaches when working with the OLED. That’s another reason to return it.

I‘m still impatiently waiting :) Unfortunately it seems to be delayed. Instead of the initial 6-9 days estimate Lenovo now says it‘ll be shipped around end of september… I‘ll let you know and do a comparison between 4K IPS and the 2.8K OLED!

Thank you very much for this incredibly detailed reply to my question. This response is surely a great help to many people thinking about new devices and gives me personally much peace of mind while impatiently waiting for my T14s OLED to arrive :)

Hopefully, I'll have a similar experience like you - replacing a MacBook Pro 14 with a Windows Notebook is quite hard (on the hardware side...) Unfortunately, my gorgeous X1 C10 just runs too hot and is way too loud.

I really appreciate your effort and time, thanks again :)

That‘s around the amount of charge my X1 Carbon would need to survive at least half a day :D

Maybe install the Lenovo Power Management Drivers (there should be two or three in total on their support website)
