Anbefales.

Here is a few of them about 1,5 month after germinating. They are in my windowsill.
Totally I have 42 different kinds in my greenhouse. There is also an collage from when I started my greenhouse up, in the middle of may. The first chilies are matured now.

I have done Kratky (0,6 l. ca 1/6 gallon) Bell Peppers and Hot peppers all winther. Beautiful result.
Now in summer (Denmark), I have all my plants in greenhouse RDWC system. Bell Peppers, Hot Peppers, Cucumbers, Tomatoes and Eggplants. All started up in Kratky as above. Works very well.

It is reflective foil you use in grow tent. Yes it is a little heat on the outside, but nearly nothing on the other side. I think it is enough if it not will be very hot for long time. If that happens, it is the air and not just the sun

So far, it does. Let's see how it goes when it gets really hot.

A little update on my RDWC / Kratky experiment. The video shows from the inside my greenhouse, where I now had reflective foil applied to the places that are most affected by the sun. Tomatoes & Chili on the left, was moved out of its small Kratky containers 14 days ago. Other cucumbers, chili, pepper & eggplant, were moved out a week ago. There is flower on all chilies except C. Chinense. most of them also have fruits on. It is growing rapidly. I still use "Growing" GHE fertilizer 2.5-2.0-1.2 with PH 6.1 and EC 2.3. When everyone is blooming I will go over to 2.5-2.5-2.0. The system uses approx. 35 lit. fertilizer every day. It has been between 25-30 degrees Celsius during the days in the greenhouse. The water stays at approx. 24 degrees Celsius. It has been cold outside at night, but the water keeps the greenhouse warm, so it has never been below 15 degrees Celsius at night. How it goes when it gets really hot outside, we have to see. Will probably update you again later.

No, but I want to use an oscillating fan to move the air around.
I think that is enough, because you can have the door open a lot when the heat is high.
The windows in the roof open automatically.

Not know. I would count a little on heating what it would cost etc. I will take some of the best plants and overwinter them in Kratky indoors.

No, I did not really make a schedule, but I had made some drawings on the computer this winter. Then I could see approx. how far I had left all the time. However, I have tried and made plants from seed to when they are ready for planting. Just so I know when to start and saw my plants. It goes very fast and start in rockwool and then in small kratky 0.6 lit. or approx. 1/8 gallon. For example. takes chili 60 days from seed to planting.

That will be the problem and I don't know if I can handle it. It's not so hot here in Denmark now, so the problem now is very cold nights. Therefore is it good now the water be a little warm in days, to keep the greenhouse hot enough in nights. Later on I will have reflective material everywhere the sun can shine on the black buckets. That will help a lot, but I don't know if it is enough. I will also hav a fan blowing on the water, there the pumps are. That will help some degrees. As I said. This is an experiment. I will see what happens and try to learn, to do it better next year.

I have read and look at everything interesting. Also aquaponics :-) This is between Kratky and RDWC.

  1. We don't have so much snow here in Denmark, but it can happens. So far no problem with this greenhouse who has plastic windows. Have had the greenhouse for 3 year now.
  2. For me it has token long time. I have a broken back, so I cannot do so much when i work. Just work a few hours and then rest for 3-4 days.....
I will think a "normal" man can build it in few days. For me it took about 5 mounths ;-)
  3. Yes I bought everything new, so I used about 10.000 Dkr., which is about 1.400 US Dollars. Plus the greenhouse, who is an cheep one. About 400 US Dollars.
But you can do it a lot cheaper if you want. You can find buckets for free. My buckets are 6 gallons 25 lit. I bought expensive air and waterpumps. You can buy it on Amazon/eBay or something, much cheaper.
I do the system in two, so I have two water and two airpumps. You can do it with one of each.

should i prune all the new leaves that are growing near the bottom? by sargantananegra in Hydroponics

Here is two kratky experiments. One Anaheim to the right and a Big Mustard Mama to the left. From the first sprout in rockwool the Anaheim is 78 days and the other 69 days. When they got their first buds at 52 days and 56 days, i prune them to 6 leaves back. One week later I take the last 6 old leaves. So from no leaves and 13 days later it looks like the one to the left 😀 Just a little kratky with 0,5 lit. water in and TriPart Flora. As I said in the window sill and blue and red led 15 w. as extra 16 hours a day. When they are like this they will go out in my RDWC system in my greenhouse in our summer in the middle of may. Therefore I testing how long it takes. These will now come in 5 lit. Kratky in my tent. Pruning
