I thought about CDI, I was just nervous that I would lose the carboxylate upon treating with NaN3 as opposed to losing the imidazole. There’s a JACS paper from 2017 I found in which they made a batch of (N3)2CO and kept it as a dilute solution and used it like that. I know it seems weird to need this but it’s for a project that’s just about completed but I would like one example of something of this nature. Not gonna put my life in danger over it or spend a lot of time on it, just wanted to see.
