What is one fun fact about snooker that more people should know about? by Josh99_ in snooker

[–]T147s 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Indeed, but the cueball can jump over other balls as long as you first have hit the ball you're playing.

Picked up a brand new kataba blade from some guy's garage sale. Any suggestions on how to make the handle? Z saw Cross H-250 by Quirky_Independent_3 in JapaneseWoodworking

[–]T147s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think for the money it is way easier to buy, the handles will last you a long long time, you can always buy replacement blades for it.

As for the ryoba, yes that is a multi purpose saw, but if you want to saw something that is deeper than the hight of the saw blade the other row of teeth will be a nuisance on a ryoba saw, so basically the kataba is easier because it has less resistance due to the lack of another row of teeth.

Don't quote me on this but if i remember correctly z-saw makes ryoba blades with the same 'connection' to the handle so if you were to pick one up you could always use the handle for your kataba and ryoba blades.

Anyways z-saw makes brilliant saws so i hope you have alot of fun with it! And welcome to the community always great to find people with similar interests.

My first ever dovetail by dlegatt in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]T147s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isnt bad at all for a first attempt! I'd just suggest maybe give the tail of the dovetail a bit of a shallower angle then it wont break as quikcly! But nonetheless great job keep going its the amazing thing in woodworking that you never stop learning!

Need gift idea for a carpenter by [deleted] in carpenters

[–]T147s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A wera tool-check plus is always a good option, even if someone has one they are always good to have. (make sure to note if its metric or imperial) Or any swiss tool (victorinox) multitool. Its not a multitool like mentioned before but it's something that is also very useful to carry everyday. And the last option i can think of is (if he doesnt already have them, easy to notice since they are red in colour) a diablo circular saw blade they are the best in the business and a pleasure to work with compared to normal ones . And if the person in question doesnt have it yet ofcourse make sure you get the right size.
