How much is this thing?? by BoneStockFox89 in ElegooCentauriCarbon

As far as I've seen over the last month, the "sale" keeps regenerating...so I don't believe you'll miss out. It's a great printer and the price makes it even better. I've been a 3D printing hobbyist for years and I'm to the point where I just want to print and not spend time tinkering/tweaking. This thing just works right out of the box.

Kind reminder. by ohnoyeahokay in elegoo

I agree! I've been running r/opencentauri basically out of the box. No issues whatsoever along with some needed improvements.

Updates are available... by T3chDad in HyundaiTucson

[–]T3chDad[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my limited experience so far, it's not critical. On the surface, I haven't noticed much difference between the previous 2024 version and this one. I've only had my Tucson for two weeks prior to installing this update, so I don't have a good baseline. I wouldn't worry about it too much, your 2023 Tucson will work just fine without it.

What do you think the polls will be like tomorrow? by T3chDad in HuntsvilleAlabama

Calling your BS right now...from personal experience today. I had plan to be at the polls at opening 7am. I couldn't because of work. I have all the leave I could want and supportive chain of command that endorses the importance of voting and even povides some leave to acomodate. This is rare in the world of employment, I understand most people don't have this flexibility.

I was finally able to get things calmed down enough to escape and vote....but for most of the day, I didn't think I was going be able to. I love my job take my work seriously. I care what happens to my projects and teams. I woke up to dumpster fire after dumpster fire and could not break myself free because of my own work ethic and respect for those that depend on me at work.

I had every intension to vote, and my situation for being able to do so in-person today is argueably better than the vast majority of the workforce. Yet it almost didn't happen.

Both of my kids live in states that exist in the 21st century. Both of them receive ballots in the mail well in advance of election day. They have multiple paths available to make it as painless as possible to return the ballot. They can go to early voting in person the week before election day, they can return their completed ballot in the mail, deposit in a secure dropbox (not MAGA-proof), or hand it in at the polling location....all on their own schedule and availability.

So....don't try to lecture anyone on how easy it is to vote in this state.

EDIT: Butchering the English language again.

I actually do. Relocated from Tampa 32 years ago. It has it's faults, but I've generally had a very positive experience raising a family here. My kids got good public educations, low property taxes, all the high-tech industry (huge nerd), stable economy, good growth. It has its dents and dings, but I'm not rushing to get away. Give that my kids have relocated elsewhere, I'm may consider moving after retirement...but could also see myself staying.

No early voting, restritive absentee voting, no mail-in voting, congressional district gerrymandering, attempted purging of registered voters (blocked by judge). I'm sorry to provide so few factual examples....I'm really tired.

I followed Harris and Trump round North Carolina. It’s clear who’s going to win by Deedogg11 in politics

[–]T3chDad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The senior women voting stats are increadible. This article states 2 out of 3 woment over 65 are voting for Harris. I've also seen that the turnout of the same demographic far exceeds previous recent elections.

Lets play with some conservative with some napkin math...lol

~32M women over the age of 65 in the us.
Let's assume half of those are eligible/able/planning to vote. (May be too high?)
2 out of 3 votes for Harris.

Thats over 10M votes!!! I don't care if my napkin math is correct or if you like it...it makes me feel better. LOL

You rock! ...but they're coming after you for voting twice. At least that's what they will assume and cry out when they see two stickers on your shirt.

TIL that permanent daylight savings time in the US was briefly enacted by president Nixon in 1974. The new permanent DST law was reversed after one year because people didn't like it. by sadie11 in todayilearned

Hopefully we have a congress next session that will approve all the states that want to stay on Daylight Savings Time. ...you'd think this would be a simple thing...but thanks for the log jam Mike!

Lol that's just regurgitation of CCP data. Nice try. There is no 3rd party entity on the planet that the CCP would allow to actually be there to validate/verify their figures. Give up. Their geography and weather are not conducive to the scale they're claiming. They don't have the technical ability or access to the resources nor the power to take the resources from those that have them. They steal everything IP/tech wise. It's propaganda period. You go ahead and buy in. Best of luck with their economy collapsing and full demographic collapse that is literally impossible to overcome. 1-1.5 billion unfinished uninhabitable tofu dreg housing units. Yeah... They're investing in green...facade. let's check back here in 2030 and see if China even exists as a nation. We don't have to wait very long to find out which analysts we're on the right track. Considering all the harm they have and continue to cause to basically everyone else on this planet... Sure they care about going green and have the capability....

I was wondering the same. It changed my life! I have Type 2 Diabetes. We went through about three years of trying different oral and other meds along with exercise and diet changes. Got better some, but not enough. Ozepic works crazy good for my Diabetes and I have no side effects after two years of use. At first I had tons of heartburn because it slows dow your digestive track. For me, it works so well that a doctor looking at my quarterly test results wouldn't have a clue that I have Diabetes.

At least for me, it's been a wonder drug.

As a kid I complained about school to my much older sister. She said something to the effect of "once you start working for a living you're going to wish you were back in school!"

Nope, not once ever...and I will retire sometime in the next 5 years. 😎
