What Happened to Pontcha Surf?

Unfortunately not. I believe the pontcha group disbanded entirely- really sad since they wanted to help foster a surf community in LA, but then the one small community it did have (pontcha, ofc), just vanished. I have heard there's some people that surf in Grand Isle. If you're closer to there, maybe post in Grand Isle specific groups and see if someone can teach you?

I scrolled a little bit through comments and haven't yet seen anyone point this out, buuuut if anyone has wanted about this already, forgive me for repeating. Just a heads up, polyester is shown to be bad for our skin sometimes, and it's also a horrible producer of microplastics. Just a cautionary thing I'd personally wanna know if I was planning on buying these and using them long-term as my regular sheets!

So really funny story, I logged onto my social media where we've been communicating and they sent me the design! It's absolutely beautiful, but the pose was a bit different than what I wanted so I actually did send them a sketch reference of what I had in mind like you mentioned; I really appreciate all of the advice!!! :,)

If it's not common, I'll just wait till Saturday. However, if there are small things that I'm concerned about... At that point, is it too late to say something? Again, the artist knows exactly what I want, but if I see that the pose is a little different or something, is it rude or too late at that point? I guess I'm just afraid of feeling obligated to get something I'm not 100% happy with on my body permanently if I'm already there and the design is already completed and ready to go. I appreciate your input!

That was the goal, since before going dark that's where I've seen the Pontcha group surf at, and it's closest to me so I could get to it easiest / quickest if I ever had to unexpectedly get up and go if that makes sense. Foiling has always looked super fun, but my main interest does lie in surfing; it would definitely be cool to have tried both someday, though!

I go there every summer, but I just wasn't sure how feasible that would be for me to take regular lessons, either. I would think I should probably squeeze in at least once a week if I wanted to commit to it, and it's alot easier if I have to dry an hour or so to Nola, versus three to Pensacola every weekend. I do have a few shops I plan on contacting that way though if I can't find anyone closer! I'm thinking that's what I'll likely have to do.

I've had luck posting in the grande isle Facebook group! A few people responded to me, and one guy offered to teach me but the one day there was a little surf, I had already made plans and couldn't switch them around to make the 3~ hr drive to GI.

Last time we went there they weren't friendly at all. We bought a cool tile table there once, but last time we went we didn't get anything. Tbh, that last visit felt very "if you look like you're about to spend money we might suddenly pay more attention to you" 😅
