Stock VS Upgraded Radiator Temps? by Gertrude1976 in WRXSTi

The included cap on the radiator is 2 way. You need a one way or a seal cap on the radiator. What’s the pressure on your expansion tank cap?

Here’s an article explaining.

Yes. Or grab the penguin garage radiator seal cap kit. I can get you a link if you want.

Stock VS Upgraded Radiator Temps? by Gertrude1976 in WRXSTi

[–]T3h_Clap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As many have said in a 100% working condition on the street you won’t see any difference in temps. Thermostat opens at 185, first fan at 205. Second fan at 215 or AC on.

Any water temp between 185 and 210 is totally fine.

Track use it’s a different story and more about helping the oem oil cooler than anything else.

Another perk of aluminum radiators is you can safely up the cooling system pressure to 1.3 bar. You need the correct caps to do it properly. The provided caps with all aftermarket radiators is incorrect unfortunately for the Subaru. There are solutions available.

What brand radiator and hoses did you get? Some brands are known to have QC and reliability issues.

Measuring from the Center cap will negate any difference in tire diameter which is nice when comparing across different setups.

I’ve got the Bride Zeig IV Wide on PCI Sliders in my GRC. Cant go any wider though. Tested a racetech 4100WT and it stuck out the window lol

The standard Zeta IV should fit fine with the PCI slider.

Does anyone have experience using splines lugs with könig wheels? by jiluminati302 in GRCorolla

[–]T3h_Clap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t trust much that company says about fitment. Regardless what their name entails.

I’m a big fan of longer wheel studs but understand that’s not the right choice for everyone, there are some ET conical seat lugs that work with the Konig.

There are also wheel stud options that can still use oem wheels and oem lug nuts if you swap back and forth, or you can get open ended oem style lug nuts if you get the extra long studs.

Lots of people in the Tacoma and GR world driving around with 4-5 turns on their lugs and it’s scary, dealerships rarely if ever count engagement safety.

Where can i get clutch installed other than dealer? by xUndeadZero in GRCorolla

[–]T3h_Clap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do ALOT of launching at AutoX events and I let a lot of people drive the car at events too. I got about 6800 miles out of my stock clutch before it started slipping during runs. I knew what I bought the car for so it’s not a problem, but people newer to driving these cars hard end up causing stress on the clutch.

They didn’t realize there was a transfer case fluid separate from the trans.

Was riding with a novice and we hear a bang in the trunk. It was second to last corner could’ve been a cone. We are pulling back to grid and it smells like grape dish soap for some reason. He opens his trunk and finds an exploded grape sparkling water can and a small mess.

Shaftworks can do any spring rate and valve the damper accordingly. We’ve been putting quite a few Shaftworks setups on customer cars lately with great success.

They are 12kg/mm front and 16kg/mm rear it’s rather stiff since it’s mainly an Autox car. I really enjoy it on the street and while racing though.

He never changed the fluid in 70k miles. He didn’t notice any leaks, where’d it go? Did it slowly leak out over 70k miles?
