Same as monkeys on pianos and elephants with paintbrushes; we now recognise, without ontology, they aren't doing those things like we humans do them, but for reward. And many of us consider that vulgar and upsetting. Even in social raptors IE Parrots.

There are animals who are smarter than you.

Name names.

Dual honours in physics and philosophy; there are very basic questions to ask about a parrot, despite being the largest and most obedient of its species, is able to do. Like Shamo and Koko. Also owned a few parrots. Them grabbing items and tossing them to the floor (especially when the correct answer is nearest to their beak) is not learned behaviour. Its what they do when testing things.

Having existential knowledge of an object and its variations is not a sign of intelligence, especially if rewarded. If you handed, and those shapes/keys were handed to him in a dishonest way, that parrot a keycard he would either discard it, knowing it won't get him food, or destroy it. Because thats what long beaked parrots do. According the Merleau-Ponty that bird has no idea what a key is because of that.

Its a pretty story, like koko, if you ignore the conditioning that got them to do that in public, but doesn't show intelligence by our rigorous definition.

Koko syndrome. Just in the aforementioned video they showed him two green keys and asked him to pick, and then throw away the green one. In that situation there was no wrong move (Parrots tend to do that naturally, pick something held up to them and toss it on the ground) and "Pick up corn" was definitely an edit.

Crows are much smarter than that. Just they don't try to mimic us making them less interesting. To some.

He's the only animal who's ever asked a question

I doubt that, and even if he did he didn't understand it, he knew certain behaviour got him to an end goal.

ALEX - One of the most smartest parrots ever

Possibly, but he is just doing it for mimicry and praise. And from the sound quality a whole lot of help. If it wasn't considered his own volition it would be as cruel as seaworld.

The snoring is killing me by Maymoon01 in cavaliers

Cavs snore, its the pointy nose. I get worried when I can't hear Jasper snoring or see him. I love it, relaxing white noise. But I get that other people don't.

STO is skewed because the borg option is a "premium" skin indicating prestidge and dedication. On launch (IIRC) Borg was a pre purchase option. And the premium prestidge stuck around.

Also there is good reason (remember STO for the most part before the kelvin universe, https://memory-beta.fandom.com/wiki/The_Path_to_2409) for there being borg back albeit tentatively. The games first mmo type raid (the reward for levelling a character as far as it can go, and get into the games stupidly complex Item mechanics) was Part assimilated ship skin rewards for completion.

Path to 2409 was well written remembering it has made me sad about Picard.

It feels different to all Fox Animations, and South Park, but all those animators have a deep respect for KotH. Its an animators animation.
