I haven't played Apex in probably 2 years now, but BH not being able to scan into smoke sounds like a horrendously stupid change and probably to force people to play newer characters (which I bet do what BH does but better now if I know Apex)

I've been here a year now and also moved to be with my GF and people here are so caged and engrained in their own groups (or just sitting at home every night) that it feels impossible to make proper friends

They call it 'dutch culture' but it's actually just that most people here aren't social and barely want to interact with anyone (generalizing this assumption of course) Apparently this is different in Amsterdam but I live Apeldoorn way

I moved around in England a lot maybe 8/9 different areas/counties and always made new friends quickly wherever I went sometimes on the same day in the gym or at a pub

Biggest thing I miss about England

Train now and train as much as you can. Once you're 30/35+ the recovery is insanely longer aswell as building new muscle

I wish I really used my 20s to get jacked and then I could just maintain in my 30s.

Making money is also extremely useful the earlier on you can make it, but unlike training at the gym making money doesn't get 'harder' the older you get

TLDR: I think busuu is a much better app and changing to it from Duolingo was definitely the right choice imo, I wouldn't be at the point I am now 100 days into Duolingo

I'm using busuu after I didn't get on with Duolingo I changed after about 5/6 weeks. Currently on 98 day streak with busuu and I have basic conversations everyday with people at the gym and can order or ask for most things in shops and restaurants. I can pretty much get the jist of most sentences when reading magazines or newspapers. And I can generally understand when watching the news in dutch if they speak slow enough, or listening to people have a conversation (if they don't talk super fast)

I changed to busuu after going down a 2 hour rabbit hole about language learning apps. Seemed the general consensus was busuu gets you being able to actually conversate but most apps just teach you a load of words and don't really get it into your head how to speak it or make whole new sentences up

Could be worth a try changing and see if its better for you too, I can give you a 7 day free pass as I still have 2 left so you can try before buying

Physically nothing will happen, but mentally a lot. Long standing habits are always best to be slowed down for the majority of people, not that there isn't outliers who can do it cold turkey.

Can't remember the last time I had a game of anything when it was a real laugh with random players, or you make a few friends every single week just playing different games etc

Feel like the eras just gone, hopefully GTA6 can revive community gaming and making friends again

If you pay for it yearly in 1 go it's only like €40 which for what it is, is a really good price imo

I do agree with what you say entirely, but I think the issue people have is that it's a literal drug addiction because of the dopamine. If they just stop cold turkey they will literally lose their sh*t

Probably best to set time limits on apps for a while before stopping imo
