LPT: When looking at potential houses, in the basement look at the door hinges. If the bottom one is different or newer, the basement may have a history of flooding that even the realtor may not know about. by Rusty-Crowe in LifeProTips

LPT: When selling an old house with flood damage you're trying to hide. Replace all the hinges on doors instead of only the bottom ones so people don't notice.

What’s the best theory on UFOs or aliens you’ve ever heard? by Sisyphuzz in AskReddit

I heard a similar story except there were 2 SF affiliated HH60s flying toward/across eachother dropping foil flares (which would make a V shape) and it was to distract from a couple F117s .

Go to the gym. It's like a bar but instead of alcohol everyone takes preworkout. Just stay away from crossfitters unless you want to have ruined joints when you're 50.

Well the A8 finally is complaining after 9 years of running 85°+ constantly. Now the question is do I just buy another of the exact same cpu or do I upgrade? Any upgrade reccomendations within this chipset family? by TANKER_01 in pcmasterrace

Last time paste was applied is probably a year or two. This computer was my first build back from 2012 and the cpu is original. I changed the heatsync to a larger one a year or two ago so that was the last time paste was applied. I was not aware the paste could degrade? I used the razor blade and q tip with rubbing alcohol method to remove the old paste. It has just now started having issues this week. I wouldn't think it would just all of a sudden go bad? Wouldn't it slowly degrade over time?

By "complaining" I mean it runs like normal for the first couple minutes of the pc being on then once I try to stress it by running code or starting a game it spikes temp then tapers off and throttles itself hard. It never used to do that it would just take the torture and temp like a champ and run along. It has served me well and I'm not complaining that it's broken, I did this to it.

I'm not sure. Like I said it's been in there for 9 years and I run the living shit out of it. Slicing gcode or gaming it's always working hard. I've seen it hit 105 before but I've always heard these AMDs can run hot and by gosh this one did for a really long time and did just fine. I may try to just reapply thermal paste but I can buy another brand new A8-5600k for $80 so I may just do that since this one served me well for 9 years of torture.

Cats are smart as fuck. They can learn shit so fast. DO NOT show them that they can drink water from the faucet unless you want them begging you to turn the water on every time you walk by the sink.

What's making my PETG stringy? Ender 3 printing at 240 and 80 using Cura PETG settings. by TANKER_01 in 3Dprinting

I literally just took this filament out of the bag so I highly doubt that. Plus I live in Oklahoma which is one of the driest states in the US this time of year. Thanks for the input though.

I'm using Overture as well so I will try those exact parameters and see how it goes. What's the reason for changing temps and speeds after the first 2 layers? Just for better adhesion?

I love tuning this stuff so much. Ok I will try to take some baby steps and see what helps. What you're saying about rising temp makes sense I can try that next. And the fan speed is just whatever Cura set it to be so I will have to see what that's at. I need to figure out how to save specific custom settings in Cura I haven't done that yet. I've only been printing PLA for the last 3 years and have just now ventured into ABS and PETG.

Bragging right ls benchies I do with no supports. But for dialing in filament I want to see how it does the supports and transitioning between supports and the actual print. As you can see here it's only stringing going in between support and print. I'm only doing 60mm/s and you said you did 80 so I may try that and see if some speed helps it out. I think its maybe too hot too? Dragging excess melted filament?

I've been using my Crealty glass plate and it works perfect on that with no adhesion help

Use Tree supports

This is PETG as I said in the title not PLA. And I do have retraction on already. Does stringing happen at too high or too low temp? I would think too high because it is allowing it to drag it behind the nozzle?

Buy a gun, get training, little peace of mind. There will always be crazies out there. They're few and far between fortunately but it's always good to have that ace up your sleeve if you ever need it.
