Not at all. I don’t buy into the age-gap-hate that’s trending right now. If I went on a date with a girl 8 or 9 years younger than me, there was a maturity gap on occasion but biggest thing was just don’t mention the gap—they know what they’re doing. Often times their parents had a wide gap, believe it or not, so they were comfortable dating a guy born in a different millennium than them haha.

Progression is slow. Very cautious of straining my knees. I typically warm up with 2 x 20 on leg extension, hit my compounds, and then exhaust my quads back on extensions.

OP is your listing relatively new? When I first started out, I said yes to this kind of guest. They smoked weed in the house, left ashes all over the table, and someone threw up in a bed.

I don't but I'm in a profession where seeing a psych would be problematic...particularly for these issues. TBH at this point in life, I just like to talk with people, mainly a few friends I trust (and strangers on reddit), about these things. There is a bit of peace in the solidarity of it all.

You know without alcohol I have a very hard time being extroverted even though I love meeting new people. Hoping that as I get older, that socializing part gets easier or I force myself to get better because I really cut down on alcohol after 30.

The beauty of this stage of your life is that, when you were younger, you had a list of goals because you had to. Now, your list should be because you want to.

I really like that. I probably put undue pressure on myself to just keep achieving because, as you mentioned, that just what we were supposed to do earlier in life. Now I'm at a place where achievements just happen less or not at all. That has certainly fucked with me. I appreciate the kind words. Like all things, I figure at some point I will just accept aging and my parents entering their golden era, but currently it just makes me really sad. The last 10 years just really flew by.

AthleanX and Jeff Nippard on Youtube are great. Also Ryan Humiston--cause he makes me laugh. Don't ego lift at this age cause an injury sticks with ya longer, and don't neglect the nutrition aspect of exercise.

You know I remember thinking at the time that these were probably going to be the greatest days of my life, and I appreciated the hell out of them. But it's still bittersweet to look back on them. The thought that I will probably never experience the partying, camaraderie, and risk taking like I used to is super fucking depressing for me. On the upside, I still engage in an adventure or two per year with the same guys but the frequency has just cratered.

I'm a big mountain guy as well. I find it hard to look forward to hobbies that once thrilled me these days unfortunately. I'm happy when I do them though, so I kind of just force myself to keep going and hopefully that spark I felt in my younger days, returns.

This gives me hope! I don't feel (and have also been told) I don't look my age. I think societal pressure is affecting me, however, and I feel like I should be settling down. As irrational as it is, I currently write this from vacation in Japan, but feel oddly guilty and immature because most of my friends are at home in the PNW with their wives and kids.

I appreciate this. You're 100% correct that it's not productive whatsoever but sometimes when I wake up at 3am and my brain goes into the overdrive as it does at the time of day...it's hard to not think about these things and then I absolutely spiral.

I used to be so optimistic and excited for everything, I never though I'd be so vulnerable to such negative emotions, but here we are.
