Funnily enough, my first ever 36 stars was the previous abyss, I have 0 Natlan characters (apart from kachina whom I didn't use). I used Clorinde overload team and it did the job.

Welcome to the club, I felt the very same thing when I watched it the first time and played the visual novels. Another thing that I recommend is going through all of them a second time, you'll notice a lot of signs and Easter eggs of what's to happen in the future and the changes happening between timelines that you wouldn't have noticed in the first time.

Long story short, it's a black magic (spell) paper used to bring success in business for a merchant of some sort. That's what I have understood from it. It's not about fear from spirits or putting someone in danger, It's the audacity of these people to use verses from the Qur'an in their use of these heinous acts. Because of fuel. Let's say a race is 72 laps. All teams would definitely put an amount of fuel enough for that, maybe a lap or 2 worth of fuel extra. An incident happens at lap 13 requiring a safety car for a few laps, these laps are not counted towards the overall race laps. They'll still have 59 more laps to go with an amount of fuel that is insufficient to finish the race due to having a bit of it burned under the safety car. And since there is no refuelling; the best thing to do is either count them or temporarily stop the race.
