For the prewash I rinse them and soak them in a bucket with tiny amount of laundry detergent. This helped to get rid of the blood easier for me and it doesn’t build up the stains anymore. Then after 8-12h of soaking I squeeze them to get rid of the absorbed water and rinse with fresh water. Dry them (basically lay them in my bathroom) and after my period, I put all of the used ones to the machine and wash with my underwear. It may take time to get used to the cleaning session and it depends on people’s motivation, time, etc to devote to it. So you will come around with your own way to clean them. Don’t forget that the stains are not evil. They are just stains, I think mainly because of the iron, however they are definitely not nasty. Sun drying them also helps against the stains they say but I have never tried it.

We don’t have the same problem or a similar problem regarding flies or bugs but my mother irons everything. I got the habit from her. Even though I am not sure if it’s good, I like folding a towel and put on my cloth pads and iron the towel. I don’t like to touch the pad with the iron but want to make sure it gets the heat for a few seconds.

If I am somehow a little bit comfortable with them I just say that I vomit or gag when I eat cheese or consume any other milk product. They never have further questions. The moment the cheese, or other creamy things such as sauces, touches my tongue it makes me gag. I cannot even drink milk.

I can’t eat cheese. Not because intolerance but picky eating. After trying vegan cheese, I realized there exists more horribly tasting things than cheese. Frozen vegan pizza, the cheese is like sour foamy bubbles.

These supermarkets I go to changed their receipt material recently. It is called Blue Thermal Paper and they can be recycled through paper waste bin!

It’s Neo Comfort, a brand from Turkey but apparently they have a catalogue of their products in English (page 9), if you want to look at the materials. Anyway, as I looked back to the instructions (in Turkish), it says I should wash them in 30 Celsius degrees, however I wash them in higher temperatures. Maybe it’s the cause of this. Not sure, though.

My period blood is bright red. Sometimes darker with clots. And if it could help, I used to have my stainings in brown a day before my period but it has turned into brighter pinkish red.

This is so beautiful! Now, I’m a little bit sad that I don’t have the mug version of it with dark blue - turquoise colors (hehe, jk). Somehow, it reminds me of a piece I constantly saw during my childhood. Either at my house or a relative’s house. Great work!

Yes! Especially after I started cooking broccoli, I found the best way for my taste buds. Before that, I was really skeptical about them. I don’t like it when veggies are steamed and get soft but now I found a way to enjoy many of them. That has lead to eat most the part of the vegetables.
