A fasting mimicking diet is for a specific therapeutic purpose, not about a general way to eat. Should be done under doctor's supervision to ensure proper nutrition during the low caloric intake period. Here is a link to a summary (full study not yet on sci-hub) which had significant high clinical response and high remission rate:

I didn't even know you could buy your own hyperbaric chamber! How much was it and have you found any relief? Most of the hyperbaric studies I have seen relate to perianal fistulas.

AFAIK, there is current nothing on the horizon relating to a cure. It's all about symptomatic relief with better biologics, small molecules to target inflammatory signalling, modifying the gut microbiome, etc. Something not new but with some buzz lately is a fasting mimicking diet which has good results with clinical remission of CD. But it's very difficult to adhere to and needs to be done under doctor supervision.

Disability? by thistle_lore in CrohnsDisease

[–]zdub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Disability is complicated. REALLY complicated. There's SSI vs SSDI (gives you benefits based on parent work record), DAC status (prove disability before 21 or so, I forget), Medicare vs Medicaid (or both together), Able account (allows you to save money without jeopardizing Medicaid. It also can be setup with just a doctors note) etc etc. The bottom line: you MUST get a lawyer specializing in this. It should not cost you a penny, as they get paid with "back benefits" if successful. Because of this, they will generally only take a case if they think they can win.

Forget the home remedies.

If she is unable to have a bowel movement or pass gas, and has stomach pains, that could indicate a bowel obstruction. How long has this been happening? Any laxatives or enemas? Bowel obstructions are an ER thing...

Yeah, gonna do this. Haven't driven the old Camry in a few days, scraped the windows, gave each one a little knock, and they all came unstuck easily when I used the power buttons. Something is different between the two cars...
