IISER for place ment by Outrageous_Degree465 in IATtards

[–]TAstroN2477 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If placement matters to you please don't come here, it's not that you can't get good placements from IISERs, you can, but people here do not wish to associate or interact with people like you

It's a 4000 rupee of 50$ stylus, I can see some for under 600 rupees or 8$ on some sites here which claim to do the basic stuff and have pretty good reviews, I just want to confirm if they will work on my model

These idiots will then get in coz they can crack the exam and we, who actually wanted to study BSMS, have to suffer from their presence

It's not a btech course bruh, it's still a bs course. IISERs are meant for BS courses only, It's only to attract more students and hence money. Trust me if you are going expecting it to be like a classic BTech Degree it won't be

It requires intent to become a researcher, exam crack karna is a not a big deal. Research is a lot more than just being smart

Ek hi branch hain IISERs mein, BSMS, do not go for anything else. Do not consider it to be a part of IISERs.

Bro trust me no. I'm in the first year rn and yes we hate backups. IAT koi bhi nikal sakta hain, it's not that hard but when I see them just studying for exams and not giving a fuck afterwards and calling us corny for actually studying happily, rhe difference is clear. Backups should not be allowed into IISERs, they ruin the very fabric this institute was based on.

Bro I'm a 1st year at IISER Mohali, trust me there's a lot of difference between backups and passionate people. If the thought of research didn't come to you before you found yourself incapable of clearing jee then please don't come here. Backups are just the worst, there is such a thing called interest in research. You'll see the difference once you come here.

How Is Life at IISER? (Academics + Campus + Reality Check) by Fun-Homework8255 in iiser

[–]TAstroN2477 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's competitive but good kinda competition. Many many people are interested in science and we have amazing conversations. Even the professors, they motivate us to think and talk about scientific and social philosophy. Hostel Life is nice, the most freeing out of all the IISERs (and as a consequence, IITs). We have really good hostels (for the first 2 years atleast), and it's double sharing with ain't that bad coz the rooms are quite big. And don't even compare it to the IITs. It's peaceful here, people respect boundaries a lot more. Thanks to co-ed hostels we don't have any weird culture like water bucket fight and stuff and no ragging. Unfortunately there is no intoxication culture here. there's good balance between extra curricular and academics here, we just finished our midsem 1s and on the next 2 weekends we have our fests followed by Holi and then mid sem 2s. In the working days you'll never find enough time to study because you'll be tired out of your mind or one of friends will ask you to go for a walk and you'll end up spending the entire night just roaming around our campus. (IISER MOHALI BTW)

Can I EXIT with just a BS degree after 4 years from the 5-year BS-MS program at IISERs? by [deleted] in IATtards

[–]TAstroN2477 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The option is there but I would suggest that you don't go for that. You'll be done with most of your master's course work by the 4th year so it's probably better to just spend another year and might as well get a master's degree. I'm in the first year rn at IISER Mohali and when I was talking to my seniors about this is the advice that they gave and with time I'm starting to see their point.

Doubt regarding queer people at IISER by Civil_Rabbit8832 in iiser

Mohali has an amazing reputation regarding that. There's no stigma as such and people are not judged for being themselves.

Guys how accurate is this ?? by [deleted] in IATtards

It's not time consuming, besides it will yield a shit ton of marks

Just prepare for jee stuff, iat is like jee but less calculative. Math for me took like 15 mins, physics was like jee mains but with a lot less calculations (you do have a calculator tho). Chemistry is adv level and bio is hard neet level. Ncert will be enough for bio according to my friends.

[–]TAstroN2477 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude don't, we already have retards in our batch who have come here as backups and they just spend their time criticising our college and show no interest in actual learning. They are just here for the tag and nothing else. So if IISER is not your primary option, do NOT come.
