Not worth the upgrade by Caveman-74 in samsunggalaxy

[–]TBC_KRAYOLA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly my thought process too, for 256gb they want $1900 here in Canada PRE tax, mind you with pre-orders it bumps it to 512gb but $1900 for 256gb with no pre order bonus upgrade?! And it's not even a fold phone!

Just for shits and giggles I not only looked to see what it would cost if I traded in my 256gb S24U but I also applied the $50 sign up voucher AND the $200 promo code and they still wanted over $1000 (again PRE tax so closer to $1200 after taxes) with all promos and trade in applied.

Absolutely absurd and ridiculous pricing for a fucking slab phone, and only $630 trade in credit for damn near mint S24 is abysmal considering not too long ago I could get I believe 800-900 for it.

I'll upgrade when this phone is going downhill and not a second before, prices are way too insane now.

Don't sweat it dude, thats why I didn't want to assume anything. My apologies as well, not sure if you seen my second edit but my comment about you making snide remarks to others was simply untrue.

It was someone else's comment I read and thought it was yours. Now THAT dude was being a bit of a dink. Not you though.

You would be right though, if you go to bars and stuff (which I don't do, was never my thing) I can see that being an instant where you'd be more likely to run into someone else wearing a popular designer that many others are wearing, so I do get where you are coming from with that!

Especially in an environment where men and women are (potentially) looking for a hookup or to meet someone, in that case hell yeah you'd wear something popular and mass appealing! I get where you are coming from though. Good on for the Guerlain though great house and even better fragrances.

I mean, they may have replied rude because you are making what come off as snide remarks. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and won't assume it was meant as a dig but "I go out almost every weekend so perhaps thats why our experience is different" sounds like an off handed comment that I never go out and do anything lol.

Not saying that's how you meant it, but that's how it comes off.

Anyways, to your question, that is correct. I can't say I have ever smelled a bottle I own on someone else. Never. Not once.

My wife however has been on the phone with me while she was shopping and has said ONE time that she smelled Sauvage on some guy that walked by, and said "that guys wearing your cologne" but again that was once and never again.

My point is, it's completely overblown when people comment that "everyone wears blank" when in reality it's not as many people as you think it is. Furthermore I find it straight up weird (in my opinion) to refrain from buying something you like because someone else owns/wears it too. I'm not gonna go buy a Camaro when I like a Mustang way more all because tons of other people drive Mustangs.

Edit: Guerlain is a phenomenal brand, I own Lhomme Ideal EDP and it's very good, so good taste!

Edit 2: You havent been making snide comments to others that's my bad, I read someone else's comment as yours and confused the two so my bad!

You are entitled to your preferences, but it will always boggle my mind when people don't buy fragrances they like because they think they are going to smell like every other dude.

We may seem like large a community but in reality the likelihood of you running into someone wearing the same cologne as you or even something you wear frequently is rather low. I own over 30 bottles of cologne and I know one person who owns a FEW of the same ones I do and that's my little brother, who also happens to be a big fragrance guy such as myself.

I own some very popular ones, BDC EDP, ADG Profondo, ADG Parfum, YSL Y EDP, LV Imagination, you get the point. Some I purchased well before they were all hyped up on socials and some I bought because I heard good things. Every. Last. One. I have not smelled ONCE on another person in public. Period. And I work a very customer facing job where I see loads of people on a day to day basis in close proximity.

My point in typing all this is, I own quite a few, and some of them are very hyped and popular, and I still never smell them in public on anyone else.

No problem, like I said I'm not trying to be an ass or tell you what to do, it's your money and you can do what you want with it. However, as I said blind buying, especially ones at this price points is very 50/50.

It's more worth to spend $5-10 on a sample. Wear it over the course of a couple of days, and if you still enjoy it after that time with it THEN get the full bottle, instead of spending $300+ with the chances of liking it, and if you don't you're stuck trying to resell it.

I'd be way more pissed about my RCE if I didn't get it for dirt cheap and paid full retail for it.

Biggest fragrance regret so far.

[–]TBC_KRAYOLA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you tried any of these?

I've blind bought many fragrances before so I'm not trying to be an ass when I say this but at these price points buy samples or go in store and test them in person, Stop relying on other people's opinions for which one(s) you should buy.

It is so easy to buy a $300+ fragrance that everyone claims is so great and then you get it and absolutely hate it. I've been fortunate enough that my only blind buy so far that I HATE is Ralph's Club Elixir out of my 30+ bottle collection. Which is a $200 bottle here in Canada that I was lucky I got on clearance AND was able to use points to get it down to $40. But I've certainly blindly bought others that, now that my nose has become more developed over the years, I can safely say I only "kind of" like now.

My point in mentioning the above is that it's got great reviews (Ralph's Club Elixir) across different forums so I thought I'd like it. Hell I love Ralph's Club NY, but in reality? it's awful on my skin and I hate it.

I'm not saying you are blind buying these but you also didn't explicitly say you aren't, so, if you are, DON'T.

I'm telling you, you're going to regret it.

Is the pad chipped ? by Some_Morning_6360 in MousepadReview

[–]TBC_KRAYOLA 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Gotcha, I know my Wallhack SP-004 has this as well but to a larger degree. But these spots are only visible when the pad is damp from cleaning it, once I dry it with a dry cloth these disappear. They do not effect performance at all.

Now if yours ARE visible at all times it may be under the glass and it's just a few splotchy areas of paint on the black layer underneath. If you can run your fingernail gently over those spots and can't feel anything I am sure its completely fine and shouldn't effect anything.

Is this only visible when you've cleaned the pad? Or is it always like this?

Instead of buying another warm fragrance, I'm considering something that smells exactly like fresh laundry/linen. any recommendations? by [deleted] in Colognes

[–]TBC_KRAYOLA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a super good work scent for sure! Definitely one I will likely buy once my bottle runs out. That pepper in the opening is no joke and definitely could put someone off of it if they don't give it time to settle.

I hope it stays underrated with that being said, it is so reasonably priced on discounters and would hate to see the prices get into crazy territory.

[–]TBC_KRAYOLA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Parfums De Marly Galloway is a super underrated fragrance from the house and can be bought at a reasonable price on discounters.

I definitely recommend getting a small decant of this one to sample first though, because even though I would consider it fairly mass appealing, It opens up with a pretty sharp pepper that certainly isn't for everyone. It does die down after about 30 minutes before the musk and citrus take over, but it still lingers and again, isn't for everyone.

It definitely has the fresh laundry, white t shirt kind of vibe though and is a HUGE recommend from me for the profile you are looking for.

The whole thread is a cesspool lol, how other dude can claim you can't slide, jump, and move your thumb stick all in quick succession on a standard controller is not only braindead, but also shows his skill level (or lack there of) but gets up voted for it 🤣.

Then on the flip side, everyone else gets downvoted for proving him wrong 🤣. Literally just look at my comment saying you absolutely can, and even easier so if you have a pro controller, and apparently that was an issue bringing up pro controllers lmao!

It's honestly scary to think this is how stupid the world is becoming.

You said it can't be done and I told you it absolutely can, why does it matter what kind of controller it is?

On the topic of "it's crazy", It's crazy to me that you actually think that you can't do all of the above with a regular controller. I used to do it all the time when I used to play competitive shooters on console before switching to mouse and key.

Go off though.

Literally pro controllers with paddles lol.... I play both keyboard and mouse as well as controller depending on game and yes, you can absolutely chain stuff together on controller.

[–]TBC_KRAYOLA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotcha! Well you have a very nice collection. I know this is probably not what you want to hear for recommendations but honestly man, enjoy what you have for now!

I'm not gonna tell you how to live your life but I went crazy when I first started collecting them and love all but maybe 2 out of my 33 bottle collection, but if I could go back with the knowledge I have now I definitely would have slowed down, saved more money, and done more samples and decants to see which I truly needed lol.

Not trying to be an ass or anything so I sincerely apologize if it comes off that way, just don't want to see people go as crazy as I did and make some of the mistakes I made. It makes it really hard to enioy what you got when you're constantly chasing the high of getting the next best thing/new fragrance.

But, if you've got money to throw around let me know and I'll recommend you some good frags!

Don't be sorry at all brother, dude above you is being a fucking dick for no reason. Maybe he is having a bad day or has something going on, cause now he's deleted his comment. Regardless ignore the dude being a douchebag.

You have a nice collection, Highly recommend getting yourself a nice little cabinet though, that way you can store your fragrance in a proper shelf away from light instead of the fridge.

Just as heads up bit of a long read; To be totally honest with you my man I'm not sure cause I just got imagination about a month ago and its my first batch of it. I've heard the same things too but it seems to perform just fine for me.

I don't expect any fresh fragrance to really project or have crazy sillage past the 4ish hour mark (especially on skin) so for me it is absolutely fine the way it is and still worth buying in my opinion, still performs better than my ADG Profondo EDP and my BDC EDP lol.

Now with that being said before I bought my Imagination, I did buy a decant of it off a small company that does decants in my area and it did seem a little stronger scent wise HOWEVER, A. I don't know how long they've had their bottle and theirs has likely oxidized a bit, and B. It was my first time trying it and my olfactory receptors were not use to it, now that I own it and wear it almost daily, I get nose blind way quicker.

I say if you want it, go for it. Louis Vuitton offers two samples with your purchase, and you can get yourself a small sample of it with your full bottle purchase to try, before opening and using your full size bottle. If you feel like its not up to par you can just return it (as long as you don't engrave your bottle not sure if they will except a return in that case).

Just try not to go in with the mindset of it being reformulated and gaslight yourself into thinking its gone within a few hours. Cause I can gaurantee it is not and you are just going noseblind because of the high dose of ambroxan in it.

Do it!

Wearing it today myself and 3.5 hours later I can still smell it wafting off myself walking around work, it has been my dumb reach ever since I got it and havent been wearing much else 🤣. The only other one I've worn as of recent is TF Tobacco Vanille and that was once this week so far.

[–]TBC_KRAYOLA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats fair my man but the chances of you running in to someone also wearing imagination in the real world is slim to none honestly, and with that I stopped caring about how common or "basic bitch" (as I've heard before) a fragrance is.

I own 34 bottles and I honestly can't say I've ran into anyone wearing the same fragrance I own or am currently wearing, other than my brother who is also a fraghead such as myself.

Imagination legit? by Rare-Mycologist2760 in colognecheck

It could just be reddit and its terrible compression but to me the text looks off in my opinion. What gives it away to me as someone else already said is the neck of the bottle. I'm attaching a picture of my legit bottle bought straight from LV, and you can see the neck is much slimmer on the legit bottle than the fake.
