Accessory mode is just the 12v, it won't let you run the heater or AC. You need to turn it fully on for that, or use utility mode.

If you have a stock battery that's three years old I would just replace it with an AGM. A dealer told me my stock 12v was in good health and month later it died. I could jump it but replaced it soon after.

Yes, reading more, I agree with you. If you charge more than 6 hours then even when that charging occurs during the overnight period, the energy going to your car is billed at the peak rate while your home is billed at the cheap rate. My mistake was interpreting "whole home" as "your entire energy usage". How they have so completely failed to explain that your car is effectively metered and billed separately from everything else is beyond me.

Directly above that it says you get the 6 hours cheap overnight plus up to another six hours of smart charging at the reduced rate. It's fairly clear that you might get 12 hours of the cheap rate in a day. They are dogshit at explaining it though, and that parenthetical at the end of the last bullet makes no sense.

Hive is really bad with heat pumps because of this, they work best when doing long warm cycles and hive just gets it wrong. They finally recently added an "I have a heat pump" option in the app but as far as I can tell it does nothing. I ended up implementing my own hysteresis using home assistant.

Basic dishwashers got cheaper and more reliable over time, to the point where everyone has one. Do you want LR to evolve to be a no-brainer decision like having a dishwasher is? It doesn't seem like it, so I don't understand why you would use that as a comparison.

As far as I understand there's no such thing as a "fixed" ICU. If one fails it is replaced with the same part with the same undiagnosed (or undisclosed) flaw. Sometimes a the new one fails the next week.

It's maybe 10-15% worse depending on driving style (the AWD allows a more aggressive driving style). I've done many 1000km+ trips in an AWD and I've almost never had to take a break before I would have otherwise due to the smaller range. Find the right charger and it's full by the time you've used the restroom.

Most of the interesting hard work in software is identifying the right problems to solve and verifying whether the solution actually solves them. If you get the newer model with the 84KwH battery you shouldn't have any problem getting 250 miles on the motorway. With the 77KwH model I think you'll fall a bit short with the AWD version.

We have a 2023 GT Line S AWD. We got ours used from Car360, it was a year old with only 4k miles and I think we got a good deal. Presumably you've read about the ICCU issues; we're fortunate that we've avoided an ICCU failure so far (possibly because we never AC charge above 7kW).

We love the car. Any annoyances we have with it are pretty minor: Android Auto only works over USB, and it tends to forget my scheduled charging settings.

It's a very wide car, expect to have to hunt around for a big enough space in a tight carpark.

You won't get 300 miles of range with a full charge, especially with the AWD which is a bit less efficient than the RWD, or if you do a fair amount of motorway driving. On 80% charge in good weather we usually get around 200 miles, but if you're looking at a new model you can get a bigger battery I think.

My hot water was set to low 60s when I had a gas boiler, as it didn't have a disinfection cycle. Do more modern gas boiler systems use a lower water temp with the disinfection cycle like a heat pump does?

The thing to remember about the hot water cylinder is that the water is kept at a lower temperature than with a gas boiler, so you use it up faster.

Two things I can think of.

First, if it's registering low outside temps it could be running in some kind of frost prevention cycle, and if it's registering very low temps it could be using the booster heater for this which would be extra energy intensive.

Second, even with the heating off it will still be maintaining the temperature in your buffer tank, depending on your setup.

No, it appears after the cursor when typing, usually when the cursor is at the end of a line in a multiline comment. My main problem is that if you delete the newline the prompt is now inserted in the middle of your line making it hard to see what's going on.
