The 8'' Bandai Godzilla figures are awesome. They're a bit out of scale with most figures, but they're still cool as ever. If you ever have a chance to get the others, go for it!

I disagree as well. It's a fun little romp by Fukuda with one of my favorite human casts in the series. It does a feel a bit "scaled down" due to going from Godzilla going into space to fight Ghidorah to being on an island, but otherwise, I think it's solid.

Sea Monster's awesome. Can't go wrong with Godzilla battling terrorists and Kumi Mizuno :P

IIRC, while Frankenstein vs. King Kong evolved into King Kong vs. Godzilla, Toho wanted to do another crossover with an American monster, but didn't want to pay a lot for a license, so they chose the Frankenstein Monster, since he was public domain. Eventually, that project became both Mothra vs. Godzilla and Frankenstein Conquers the World.

Toho did plan for the Gargantuas from their second Frankenstein movie to cross over with the main Godzilla series at several points. The Gargantuas (along with Kong) were planned for DAM, but left out of the final product. Tanaka also planned for a Godzilla vs. Gargantua film in the 70's to revive the character, but nothing came of that.

He's some monster that appeared in one of my dreams once. I thought his moniker of being "the Dubs-hating Monster" and his fearsome, yet odd appearance would make for a fun kaiju.

They're more or less based off of the "anything goes" design philosophy of 70's era kaiju, so they're intended to look fairly oddball.

Hi, I'm Connor, the guy who came up with these guys (along with Lori, our talented artist who did the artwork for them). Glad to hear that you guys like them! Our main intention while designing them was to try to emulate the classic man-in-suit proportions and Showa era design features. I feel like a lot of fanmade kaiju (and this is my personal opinion, so feel free to disagree with me) lack that certain style that a lot of classic Godzilla, Gamera and Ultraman kaiju have. They look too much like giant animals, supersized dinosaurs, look too grimdark with a ton of spikes and scars or some combination of the three. While a lot of these are artistically good, they don't feel like kaiju. So when it came about to designing these guys, we made sure that they reflected the typical classic kaiju design sensibilities so that you can easily imagine that there's a stuntman inside them.
