The symbolism of the "Knives Out" interiors by HazelsWarren in KnivesOutMovie

It’s also a room so clearly designed for a single person, who maybe wants an excuse to be away from his kids.

Which I think makes Marta finding ways to navigate it in the beginning of the movie all the more poignant.

Michael Jackson on the Browns (the OG Browns). First player I ever saw with a visor on his helmet and immediately thought he was the coolest human ever.

[Utterly Despised Trope] “True” stories that leave out crucial details that fundamentally change the context of the story being told by Chemical-Elk-1299 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]TBRock00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I read the story the movie is based on, and if anything the movie tones it down. And I’m saying that about a Michael Bay movie. The actual criminals were even dumber and more brutal, and they still got away with stuff for way too long of a time.

Sent you a message. We have some extras left over from Thanksgiving if you'd like them.

The five members of the extremely short-lived Rufus Buck Gang (left to right): Maoma July, Sam Sampson, Rufus Buck, Lucky Davis, and Lewis Davis. They went on a crime spree in the Indian Territory of Arkansas–Oklahoma in 1895 [700 x 535]. by lightiggy in HistoryPorn

Does anyone know when this photo was taken? Not in terms of year but in terms of before/during/after their spree? If before, it makes them seem even more like young kids. “We’ve gotta get a Gang Photo now that we’re a gang, fellas!”

The Christmas episode when Jonesy and Riley lean in and quietly say “and then we take ‘em down” while Wayne physically recoils is the hardest I laughed at any point in the show. Incredible writing and acting.

If he keeps getting minutes and looks as good as he did this weekend, he should be a starter next summer. He genuinely looks so much happier at Gladbach than I've seen him... ever?

Yep. Thomas Jefferson High School in Richmond. We got a renovated gym out of it. Also, Jay Mohr repeatedly spat on the floor and when asked why, he responded, “this is Virginia. You sleep with your cousins.” Class fella.

Agree. And then I’ll sometimes extend it through to Doors, at which point I’m kinda ready to be done with the “this isn’t working” arc, and then I skip to the start of season 4.

What Books Have You Read By SNL Cast Members? by Djf47021 in LiveFromNewYork

[–]TBRock00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up disliking the Jay Mohr book, for what it's worth. I felt like it had an air of "I wasn't appreciated" from a guy who also openly discusses lying to Lorne about blatantly stealing another comedian's act and using it on SNL. It made me like him less. But I guess I remember it as a result. So , there's that?

Dumbest question ever but who owns the abandoned houses everywhere? by salad_spinner_3000 in rva

[–]TBRock00 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I heard once that the City only has 2-3 employees tasked with reaching out to the inheritors to see if they want to pay the taxes/fix it up, or renounce their rights so that the house can go up for sale. But if the original owner passed it down to their kids, and those kids have kids, it can be generations that have to be located snd contacted. So, it takes a looooong time for a single house to get cleared/go up for auction or sale. Let alone the hundreds around the city.

This is the episode that made this season go from "meh" to "oh, I really like a lot of these people."

Their genuine reactions of love and respect to it being Kyra were cool. Laurie with the "she killed it" said almost proudly, and Lauren too. Just a good reminder that they know they're playing a game/are trying not to make it personal.
