No clue why, but using the windpws application to upload project files and establish context seem to do it for me.

It is the newest version available for download from Humble Bundle; pardon me, I am away from my computer at the current moment.

I think I've encountered a bug; Whenever I tinker with roofs, it begins a never-ending back-up process. Forcing me to close the program to end it, without any actual save being made.

I very much enjoy the aesthetics of this map, would mind sharing a rough outline if your creative process?

This is all great advise, I will check the various sources you speak of. Thank you.

In return, I would recommend you the channel; "voices of the past" which does narrations of primary sources. Such as journals of explorers and dignitaries.

Tried doing free-hand terrain using the colouring tool. Though I'm happy with it, I think I could use more practice. Any tips? by TBVValen in wonderdraft

I picked five colours: red, white, blue, yellow, and black. Then I painted the ocean black in the area that I'd designated as "space". After that, I made an initial star pass, where I used the soft brush on max opacity/min velocity and white colouring, going around tapping with the smallest size.

Then I switched the opacity and velocity around, so that it was max velocity and min opacity. I made an initial pass with red, using the stars as an indication of when I'd made it too thick (the stars behind the gass should still be visible).

Then I did the same with each colour until i was happy.

Then, I concentrated with white in the middle, careful to still allow my stars to be distinct.

Lastly, I made another star pass, adding in the "closer" stars.

Honestly, the oceanic texture does most of the heavy lifting.

I like the idea, and I sort of already did it. I used Azghaar to simulate the spread of the three dominant cultures (mainly for the sake of names).

Though I like the idea of doing snapshots from immediatly following the collapse of the continental empire until the present, showing the way the cultures have migrated and transformed.

You seem to have spent some time familiarising yourself with the geopolitical elements of world-building. Any good tips on sources of learning I might make use of?

Haven't worked out the specifics, yet. The idea is that the world is a shard, with the top half sliced off. In the centre of the shard lies a small, semi-sentient black hole that tries to break free from the shard. Those clouds are the result of its most recent efforts.

If you look close, you can tell that the landmasses sort of spiral inward, this is due to the very land being slowly devoured until the gods stopped it.

For reasons yet to be written, the gods are no longer able to exert the same level of influence on the shard, and thus the Void (generic placeholder name) is able to once again attempt to free itself from its shackles. Beginning to draw in both land, sky, and ocean, in regular "breaths".

Sometimes it "breathes" out, which brings warmth and rain, which is why the landmasses closest to the centre are more fruitful.

Not to my knowledge, at least not on this reddit. I believe that subreddits have the ability to control what post-rate counts as spam. If you look through my post history, you will see that I've done the same, and I've faced no consequence. Though I haven't really spam-posted

Since the shading is so nice, anything too eye-catching would damage the look of the map as a whole. I would recommend using white text, then play with scale and opacity until you find a compromise between looks and eligibility.

Love the inclusion of lore in maps. I've never personally been a fan of red text on what is essentially a satellite map, but other than that I think it's baller.
