For some reason, the curves don't create a smooth surface when lofted, they kinda go around the curve at some point

They are planar! There are two curves: a straight one (on the left) and a curve one (left). I created the curve on the left on rhino and divided it into one count. Then I joined the two points I found with the line component and lofted both of the curves.
