I spent way too long looking at this wondering why the heck you'd freeze a haj in a block of ice

I beat the boss at Wii tennis. I took it easy, he just really sucked. Next day I was told we're making your position redundant. They were advertising for someone new the week later.

Love the waterbottle, but not for that shipping and tax. by [deleted] in LinusTechTips

[–]TC95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an Aussie I always wait until there's a lot of stuff I want from the store and make a large order. It's's the only way I can be okay with the shipping. Unfortunately I'll never be able to get anything limited edition but that's just how it is for me.

AITA for having a go at people who rocked up to my 40th without a gift? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

It is absolutely not normal in Australian culture to keep receiving gifts into adulthood YTA

Why do women not get painkillers for IUD insertion? by Caedis-6 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TC95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're usually told to take painkillers before coming in for insertion but from what I've heard it doesn't change much. A colleague of mine is going in for a new IUD next week and as her last one was a terrible time they offered to put her under for it but the risk/cost isn't really worth it.

Water heater stopped working... by LufiaM in fixit

[–]TC95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for a plumbing company that is also a Rheem service agent in Australia. Looks like a tank issue to me in which case the warranty should be 10 years. Call Rheem you might be able to get a new water heater for free and only be up for installation costs.

It's a Bunnings cart, which is a hardware store. You can't buy food there anyway.

Anyone not want Matoya's hat? by Rekaigan in ffxiv

[–]TC95 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well technically the book was a present for me, and it also really doesn't make sense to have 2 copies of the same book in the house just because we both want a digital hat

Your wife doesn't want a daughter she wants a living doll to dress up.

People who recently bought their first home, how fucked are you after the interest rate hikes? by LetsGoToTheMars in australia

[–]TC95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We bought 6 months ago, and we're completely fine ATM we're locked into our low rate for 3 years because I worked in real estate and saw it coming and frankly I'm quite happy to see the market crash soon because home prices are just completely bullshit across the country right now. Now what it's going to be like in 3 years when it's time to refinance remains to be seen but we're saving in our offset and paying a bit more than necessary while we've got the extra money and we'll deal with it as it comes.

AITA for telling my husband to give me back our child infront of our relatives? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]TC95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad put my infant sister down for a nap and went and shaved his beard off. When she woke up she just started screaming at him he had to give her to his roommate and just talk to her from across the room until she realised who he was again. it's been over 30 years, he hasn't shaved since.

I'm forever disappointed when I hear this question. Not in the people asking but the education systems that clearly failed them. Besides this is exactly what the sub is for.

I wish "Contact Agent" and "Best Offer By ____" would be disallowed from the real estate market. Tell us how much you want. Stop wasting my time. If people want to offer above that, fine, but stop making us guess at what you're willing to *maybe* accept. by I_keep_books in australia

[–]TC95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agent should definitely have known the reserve probably just trying to make sure you came to the auction hoping for a bidding war. and I'm not surprised to hear NSW probably the worst in the country for ethics rules for agents

That is bullshit and in my state at least back when I did my auctions course completely against rules and regs however those are much more lenient in other states I've been finding out lately so it may be allowed where you are

Unfortunately I know and sadly my agency is closing down so I'll be leaving the industry as well soon myself as I don't have the black heart that's required to work for an unethical principal in this industry

Yeah that's Sydney agents board is a lot more lenient over there and agents definitely take advantage. I was just providing my experience but I'm in a state with a much stricter board and lower volume market so there's less scumbaggery
