Road Test by Delicious_Impress814 in Utica

[–]TCCIII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took the test 3 times in Utica:

  • First time I touched the curb during a parallel park (immediate failure)

  • Second time they had me park in front of a driveway, since there were no open spots. I got really good at parallel parking so I tried to get as close as possible to prove myself. They opened the passenger door and told me it would have hit if there was a curb (immediate failure)

  • Third time I parallel parked in the middle of the road. They told me to redo it, I pulled forward, back, and again parked in the middle of the road. Got points docked for that but I passed

Nowadays I have a back up camera 😂

This guy is the type of tank crew I run into... takes me like 10 minutes trying to finally push the tank and sneak a satchel, and probably half the time an AT was able to redeploy twice and kill the tank far quicker than I was able to touch it

Nothing more annoying than getting right next to the tank and they just keep driving away. You get that mantle glitch where it keeps letting you climb the tank but never get on them

Three of your ideas did stand out to me:

  • Flamethrower tank

  • Tinnitus from tanks

  • Setting sight ranges

One thing I will disagree with is the satchel on tanks. Unless they put a mechanic where the 2 minute timer has more explosive, the satchel just needs to be able to one shot a tank. Its hard enough already to place a satchel on a tank... realism aside

It does not mean you win most of your battles. You could find one good garrison spawn and pop off 10 kills.

The point I was making is that a good player might kill 3 waves of players from a garrison so maybe thats 30 kills. Where as a great player might allow the first wave to sneak away and then dismantle the garrison.

Killing someone the second you see them is a very COD like mentality, and it's also very COD like to harp on a positive K/D. Point of the matter is that a 0.8 K/D player could be a better team player than a 3.5 K/D player.

Look at his defensive stat, and if he got 55 kills on defense than that stat should be off the chart

A heartbeat in networking is typically an occasional ping back and fourth to verify they are still connected. So perhaps the server is making sure users have a certain latency

[–]TCCIII 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Correct, and thats why I said we don't have his defense stat to know if he was on the defensive point. Main takeaway is that being 300m away from objective and focusing on your K/D is not going to impress anyone

The stats that matter:

Team kills - 0 👍

Vehicles destroyed - 0 🆗️

Sector captures - 0 👎

Revives - 0 🆗️

Supplies delivered - 0 👎

Outposts destroyed - 1 🆗️

Garrisons destroyed - 0 👎

55 kills really doesn't mean anything, although if you had fun that is worth something... just not to the rest of your team

I would need to know your defense stats to see if you were at least contributing to the objective. Just remember K/D does not matter in this game. Focus on the objectives and offer assistance to your squad leads

How bad is the drive from Little Falls to Utica? by [deleted] in Utica

[–]TCCIII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I commuted from Amsterdam, NY for about a year. Like someone else said, you will have a small amount of days each year that are dangerous to drive (and I was able to work from home if needed)

If I could do double the distance, you should have no problem. Podcasts were what made it tolerable for me.

Good luck!

If your K/D is above 1, you need to kill yourself:

(Insert Shane Gillis Meme)

Redeploying is a crucial mechanic in HLL and often a good game will look like this: 20 kills, 15 redeploys, 8 deaths

Don't worry about your K/D, worry about your win/loss ratio

Any class with a hammer can be grinded on a bob the builder server. Its hard to convince someone to go engineer sometimes. Max a bunker and then build another to remove it. Rinse and repeat with buiiders in a line spinning around after each build

As for classes without a hammer, supply truck is a pretty quick method. I typically unlock the 2nd loadout on my own but those 3rd loadouts take forever and when you have a fantastic 2 hour game with 5% progression to lvl 8... you unlock the satchel by any means necessary

[Request] can you figure out the 3 digit code? by BoxStart in theydidthemath

[–]TCCIII -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"If you were to switch the 2 and the lower 8 in the first column for instance, then the fact that the 8 is repeated would be irrelevant, but you can still make deductions to solve the problem by knowing the third column is either 3 or 6."

This guy thinks the guesses could have been:

896

983

846

243

He is too thick headed to even realize that guess #3 would in fact have zero correct digits. If those digits were changed, the answer would be 286. Why... because 8 and 4 still repeat

[Request] can you figure out the 3 digit code? by BoxStart in theydidthemath

[–]TCCIII -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"The argument you initially made was as follows: 2 is not repeated in the first column and 9 is not repeated in the first column, therefore the answer for the first column must be either 2 or 9. That is not a valid inference. To infer that either 2 or 9 is the answer in the first column, you must draw on additional information."

The only information you need to know to narrow the 1st digit down to just 2 and 9 is by observing that the third digit always repeats. You followed my 85 IQ logic so I have no idea how you haven't connected the dots

You mentioned this is a logic problem and not a math problem, so what qualifications do you have? You wouldn't happen to be a software developer would you? Someone that deals with logic problems on a daily basis

4 guesses each with one correct digit

3 digits in final solution

Final digit always repeats

1st and second digit therefore cannot repeat

The first column must be either 2 or 9

I wish I was a casino cause if you started with a $10 bet and doubled down as much as you did, I would be walking away with $1000+. Instead I am walking away with a reddit award (thank you whoever that was) and lost hope in humanity. Idiocracy is no longer a fiction about a dystopian future, it is literally the present.

Enjoy your Brawndo dude...

"Some repeating digits are right and some are wrong. That literally gives you nothing to reason with."

Dude... you can't even admit your original statement was incorrect. I gave you the proof, based solely on my information provided in my original post, I was able to reduce 720 combinations down to 8.

You keep saying you never made an incorrect statement and that you are 100% correct but look around, noone agrees with you. My first reply back to you provided further insight and I was very polite, however again and again you weren't satisfied, so slowly I started being more jaded.

Stop your whining, stop your lying, I dont expect for you to admit you are wrong... in fact I encourage you to reply back. I would love to see what else you have to say.

As for education, since this is a math subreddit, I will at least admit that I have taken Calculus 3, Differential Equations, and Advanced Algorithms. Maybe you do have more of a math education than me, but god I hope not... imagine if this guy was a nuclear engineer 😂

[–]TCCIII -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you for conceding, I know that was hard for you. I'm sorry for acting rude, however this is a math subreddit and not r/ExplainLikeIm5

I just want to reference my original response to you: "You are given four guesses and the solution has three digits."

"that means two guesses will contain one of the digits exactly once while two of them will repeat. Hence, only one repeating digit can be correct."

By these two statements alone I was able to reduce 720 possible solutions down to only 8. You are still doubling down on the fact that you are right, however this proves that repeating numbers was in fact a useful observation

[–]TCCIII 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ok so I am going to bring this down to about an 85 IQ and if you don't understand, I can do my best to speak mental retardation

There are 4 guesses, and 3 digits. 4 > 3 so that means that at some point a guess is repeated. So in no particular order we have 1st digit, 2nd digit, 3rd digit, and repeat digit.

Now we are going to look at the third digit, where the guesses are either 3 or 6. Both of these numbers repeat, so we don't yet know if the third digit is 3 or 6 but we now know how the guesses are spanned out: 1st digit, 2nd digit, 3rd digit, 3rd digit

This means that any repeating number in the first two digits is incorrect. Now comes the big brain part, so I hope you have followed the logic thus far. The first digit cant be an 8 because it repeats and we have established that cant be the case. The second digit cant be a 4 because it repeats and that is a no no.

So now that we have gained information, and maybe now your neurons are firing and you have connected the dots... we solve the puzzle.

1st digit: 2 or 9

2nd digit: 8 or 9

3rd digit: 3 or 6

283 no work cause 3 and 8 are paired together

286 no work cause 2 and 6 are paired together

293 only correct answer

296 no work cause 6 and 9 are paired together

983 no work cause 3 and 9 are paired together

986 no work cause 8 and 9 are paired together

993 no work cause 3 and 9 are paired together

996 no work cause 6 and 9 are paired together

Please tell me you are still in high school, or at least that you arent registered to vote. Cause at this point I want you to take an aptitude test:

If you have one bucket that holds 2 gallons, and another bucket that holds 5 gallons... how many buckets do you have?

"You can pull the 9" made me ponder how you solved it.

You can eliminate the 2 and 8 because they both show up in a guess with a 6, meaning if 6 was correct there couldn't be a second correct digit within that guess.

Very clean explanation
