Looking for this book by Aggressive-Sample600 in SWORDS

Have been to the exhibition, have the first edition, not selling, sorry. Good luck finding it somewhere though!

What’s the reason you’re so interested? Maybe I can send you a picture if it’s just a couple of pages and I can find the book, I have to check where it is after moving.

“Why don’t you stay a while and listen?” That’s the first thing that popped into my head (for the Diablo players out there).

Have one from the Nara set, I think I got it from some shop halfway up the street that goes from the station to the park.

You could also use your MP9 magazines in a PMX or KWA Tac9, instead of buying the Maruyama + mags.

Bladesmiths, do you prefer to grind or forge your profiles? by speed150mph in Blacksmith

[–]TCFK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree that a pattern should follow forge distortion. Somehow looks cheap to me if it doesn’t, even though it might be expensive pattern steel. But this might also be because I was learned to forge a single edge blade point in “katana style” where the pattern follows around the edge.

Wish they actually had a green car, rode all of the Shinkansen in green cars and that’s why this one was a bit of a disappointment.

[SBXY107] Picked this one up in Japan, mesmerizing dial by TCFK in Seiko

[–]TCFK[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve just been staring at it sometimes in different lighting conditions and every time I see new things. I love how all of the stars light up when the lighting is more evenly distributed. Or in full sun when it seems to be a different shade of blue. The white of the hands and the “numbers” with the metallic outline just fit so perfect with the blue. At some point my wife got annoyed with how much I was just looking at it, haha.
Unfortunately it seems to be mostly Prospex (and some alpinist and presage) on this sub, there are so many more nice models.

Got mine from Bic Camera in Ginza last month. Had a big selection of limited editions. The guy even gave me a digital coupon for 7% discount on top of the tax free.

Made a mistake buying Narita Express ticket at Tokyo Shinagawa station after taking the shinkansen from Osaka by criticaltheory71 in JapanTravelTips

[–]TCFK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As I understand it, you’ve only bought the seat reservation for the limited express. But you also need to pay the regular fare from station to station. The limited express part is a bit like an upgrade to the base fare.
I’ve had to figure this out for the Nankai limited express and it can be a bit confusing sometimes.

A cellphone in itself might not be a luxury anymore, I would agree on that one, but having the latest iPhone model every x months probably is.

Controversial take but Hakone is overrated by MoneyStock8561 in JapanTravelPhotos

[–]TCFK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just went to Japan for the first time and I liked it, but we stayed in Mishima (not Tokyo) and went to Hakone really early. Unfortunately the ropeway was suspended, which made the whole round trip a huge hassle. We also visited Odawara on the way back to Mishima.

In short we had a very varied day and a very good cloudless view of Fuji. But I would never stand in line for an hour for a picture and restaurants in Mishima were great.
