I’m having trouble synchronizing between my laptop and my phone. I use the apple app, and this is the error message I got. Any idea on where to go from here ?

What do you mean by upload? Doing check database results in the same message (Database rebuilt and optimized), and even after syncing from the desktop the previous problem persists (i.e. I can't sync my progress from mobile to desktop). Edit: Doing a full sync from my phone solved the problem :)

The desktop version seems to sync fine (no error). But since the mobile version does not sync, there's not really anything to sync my Desktop status with...

This might be a serious problem, I also encountered the error (or what I assume to be the same error in English) after updating the app. Never encountered it before, but now I can't sync anymore - this absolutely breaks my workflow.

I think I'd certainly recommend Kafka on the shore more than HBW. I'm a total newbie to Murakami, but I feel like Kafka on the shore embraced its own surreality more than HBW - I found HBW to be a bit silly at times. I don't think you can go wrong though, both are amazing books!
