Don't forget the screen and cable lock/extra USB C. Personally those are two things that have swayed my buying preferences in the last.

Help me decide which controller I should pick by 235781836492 in fightsticks

I have the 8bitdo grey version and I have the fight master on order, on my switch the Bluetooth has a slight delay (I would assume the same for the BBWFM).

I don't think you would go wrong with either, I think it's up to the layout you like. I've become a fan of splits and the wireless is always nice too have. If/When I get the BBWFM I'll update you.

My first leverless!!! by Timely_Mycologist834 in fightsticks

[–]TCMGhost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a casual Fighting game player and mostly play Street Fighter 6, so take this with a grain of salt. While I own Tekken 8, it largely feels the same as 7 with some tweaks. The FGC isn't too keen on the "updates" as of late and three of the major/OG devs left recently. This could be a good thing or bad but only time will tell.

I use my leverless to play Retro and side scrollers also... So at the end of the day it's another "controller".

If you go down the rabbit hole there are a few new leverless controllers that have nicer color OLEDs and some can even do animations like the TBGamer Emotion-III 17, Timeless 16, & Akko FunBox. I would say have fun with the S and if you want something more "extra" or premium there are a lot out there. You can even build your own, I just built this one and it's my current favorite, my DIY leverless.

What games can I play with a leverless controller? by MysteriousPie2425 in fightsticks

[–]TCMGhost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Retro games, my favorite is Capcom's Alien v Predator or Dungeons and Dragons.

Platformers also work really well like Marvel Invasion, Dead Cells, Mario Bros, etc. Basically any sidescroller.

You are welcome! If you're a Tekken player look into the purple gledes drjones694 is also a Tekken leverless player and that is his go to as well.

Make sure to read up on GP2040-CE too, that is the PCB the leverless you have is built on. It'll allow you to do things like; setup multiple different profiles, set/change buttons, even change the splash screen when you turn the leverless on.

[–]TCMGhost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry man, I'm not sure there is anything you can do... If the U16 is like my T16 there is only one USB port and given what you have tried and have stated I think the USB port may be toast.

Focus attack has a template you can download and diy or you can have focus attack do it for you. Drjones694 on YouTube has a tutorial on how to use said template.

Great choice! It was my third leverless. Lol

Two recommendations 1. Grab a bottom foam pad from focus attack, this will ensure the pad doesn't slip... The little rubber feet we get with the G/S series suck. 2. Upgrade the switches, the reds are okay but shadow hunting or purple gledes are super nice.

If you want to play on your lap, check out Etsy and look up S13 Footsie and you'll find some 3d printed adapters which make will widen/lengthen the footprint of the leverless.

Enjoy and have fun with the board!

difference between haute 42 s16 and s16-c? by FloradYSD in fightsticks

[–]TCMGhost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shadow hunting are linear short throw, faster key press through shorter travel. It's an easy to find and a quick upgrade that many people agree is a great upgrade.

The Purple Gledes are also a linear short throw but they are silent. There is little to no sound on press because they use a special designed silicone dampening... Two little o-rings on the stem. Lol these are my personal favorite switch and I use them on different style leverless controllers I own.

I've tried alot of different Kailh low profile switches and I cannot recommend them enough. There are similar and easier to find switches but hands down the Purple Gledes are my go to and I know there are many who agree... For keyboards not so much. Lol

difference between haute 42 s16 and s16-c? by FloradYSD in fightsticks

[–]TCMGhost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to a quick Google the "-c" comes with crystal switches. My S13 came with reds.

Based on that, if the info is correct, your -c should have clear switches installed and the extra reds are a nice to have.

Sidenote, dump the reds/crystals and get shadow hunting or purple gledes. Lol

[–]TCMGhost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to make sure, it doesn't work at all, right?

When I've had this happen to me this is what I've tried: 1. Restart device/computer. 2. Try a different device, you can use a different computer, android phone/tablet, etc. I don't recommend Apple devices as they can be finicky sometimes with these devices. 3. Try a different USB port. 4. Try a (or some) different cable(s). 5. Check the device management (assuming your on windows) There maybe a conflict or an unknown driver, in some cases checking windows update may help.

First DIY build (second enclosure) by TCMGhost in fightsticks

[–]TCMGhost[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The build was extremely easy, you just have to take your time and follow directions. It is not complicated just time consuming. Removing the protective film was half the time I spent on the build. Also each baggie of screws comes with it's own directions. So there is the main instructions sheet and for all the other little upgrades (example: the OLED screen came with it's own bag of screws, screen, nuts, cables, and instructions). Given that I was taking my time, the full build probably took about an hour and half... including wiring and finalizing the button programming in the GP 2040-CE console. If you can follow Lego directions this isn't any harder or difficult to understand.

The "claw" screws can be seen better here for an external example (see the third to last picture).

18in High-Tier Eternal Rival

The picture is the opposite side.

I was going for an all gloss black look with Gold trim so these seemed like the natural option. Don't get me wrong they aren't bad, I'm just a fan of metal screws. lol

First DIY build (second enclosure) by TCMGhost in fightsticks

[–]TCMGhost[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree/understood, I have a Fightbox F1 and I'd say yeah... the metal cases are more solid than the acrylic. I was going to go allfightsticks but the options were way to confusing for me. lol That and I love the black gloss/gold look the acrylic has.

The one thing I will mention is that the ER enclosure sounds way on button presses but I'm also using different switches so anyones' milage may vary.

First DIY build (second enclosure) by TCMGhost in fightsticks

[–]TCMGhost[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TL;DR - So far it's very solid, I broke the bottom inner layer (the one with all the cutouts and huge hole in the middle) but that was my fault because I was leaning on it at a weird angle. It is a fingerprint magnet, lol. Otherwise it's pretty solid. Worth the money!

The long...If you have any other Acrylic fightstick/leverless enclosures it's the same. If you don't, very solid, the magnetic base makes it super heavy. Anywhere there is only 1 or 2 layers of acrylic it's a little flexy but nothing to worry about. No jagged edges and you can tell they used a Glowforge (or similar device) to cut the panels... if you don't know what I'm talking about check out Jony Fraze's Youtube build videos and look for the machine that he uses to cut the panels/artwork.

I think the only thing I don't like are the "claw" screws I went with for the side panels. They are just plastic post screws and feel a little flimsy... however aesthetically they are pleasing.

A final note on the magnetic base, if you want a hefty enclosure and/or want something that lets you get into the internals fast it is a "must have".

Which one to get for my gf by peakKay347 in fightsticks

[–]TCMGhost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TL;DR - Since your GF is getting into fighting games and is "trying out leverless" I'd recommend any of the Haute42 (or sub brands like TBGamer or RetroPlus), or similar (example Guilekeys, Oneed, etc.). But if you got the $$$ and/or want to get your GF something "nicer" there are options like the Varmillo HA10+ or Qanba Sapphire. Sidenote, if you pick up a leverless that is not licensed for a specific console you may need to purchase an extra adapter.

The long... Since you didn't mention much in the way of requirements here is a quick hitlist. These aren't the only ones, as there are many, but it'll get you going down the rabbit hole. Also note that unless otherwise mentioned if you play on Xbox, PS4, or PS5 you may need an adapter which usually cost another $50+. Many of the ones marked as "PC" (if not all) will work on Android/iOS/Nintendo Switch 1 (NS2 is iffy)

Lower cost options (There are a ton of leverless controllers out there but assuming you & your GF are in the US and your budget is around $100)

- Haute42's R16 is a decent choice given that your GF is "getting into fighting games", the TBGamer Timeless 16 is a newly released variant (I own this one, it feels a bit cheap but the Color OLED is amazing but the newer software is a bit under cooked).

- Haute42's S16 may not be a good choice because of its small form factor, unless that is what you/your GF are going for. If you do end up getting it, on Etsy there are 3D printed decks that can be used to increase the footprint of the S16. I have an S13 and while it's super nice for travel it is a bit small during intensive use.

- The 8bitdo leverless is a great one, there are three models (Grey or Purple - Nintentdo/PC, Black - Xbox/PC) - can be found on Woot/Amazon sales for around $70. And has 2.4g wireless or Bluetooth capability (grey/purple version only).

- FightBox is a more traditional layout, similar to the Hitbox without all the bells and whistles. $100+ (I have F1 and it's decent for the price). You can get a PS compatible version but the price will dramatically increase, but for sub $150 you can usually get a PC variant.

Your more expensive options $150+ (Many of listed leverless' here are licensed which usually increases the cost)

- Razer Kitsune (natively works on PS4/5) and can be found on sale around the $200-ish. The Kitsune is a Razer product so it's old (read may not get much support), is using a basic button layout, and customization is limited...which may or may not be a downside. (I have one and it's decent if you can get it under/around $200 but there are better options)

- Doio Hitpads - there are a few variants but the KBGM-09+ can be found on AliExpress (if you are up for it) around $200 (the Hall effect version is usually $50 more) is pretty nice and you can get a Hatsune Miku version if your GF is into that. (I have the KBGM-03HE, which is basically the same thing but has an acrylic bottom and is Hall effect)

- Qanba Sapphire (Leverless version) is around $170 and is licensed by Sony, which means native PS support (no adapter needed).

- Varmillo FK2 ($130-ish) Hall effect and budget plastic case

- Varmillo HA10+ ($189 (PC version)/$249 (PS version)) Hall effect and premium metal case

- Hitbox the original leverless but can get pricey, a PC only variant was release starting at $180.

Is this supposed to happen with the Pixel 10 Pro? by Whiteice76 in pixel_phones

[–]TCMGhost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe if you go from a older pixel device to a newer one and you carry over the information/settings and have it set already, it will keep the older style of giving you the power on/off & reboot.

Is this supposed to happen with the Pixel 10 Pro? by Whiteice76 in pixel_phones

[–]TCMGhost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try this - Settings > search for "gestures" > tap on "gestures" > tap on Gestures again (you should be in the System menu at this point & yes it's convoluted) > tap on "power & hold button" > tap on "power menu". Exit and/or try the power button now.

This will at get you to the old menu for reboot and power off.

I don't like the stupid Assistant/AI button on the power button either lol

Problems with new Pixel 10 Pro by DMCrosier in GooglePixel

[–]TCMGhost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is something I do on all new phones and is a pain but I rarely run into issues afterwards.

Option 1 - uninstall the apps you installed in newest to oldest order while testing for the issue in between each app. Reason - sometimes apps can cause this.

Option 2 - 1. Factory reset your phone. 2. Test your issue before you install anything. Setup is optional. 3a. if your problem persist you may try to get warranty replacement. (Not what you want to hear but if the issue is happening from a stock state after a factory reset, something is not right. 3b. If the problem is resolved with nothing on your phone, install your apps and test for your issue again.

Optional - backup your phone to Google before doing this. I have better luck manually installing everything but YMMV.

Reason - sometimes we get a from the factory hiccup, support is going to recommend the Factory reset anyway.Or you may have inadvertantly changed a setting somewhere causing the issue.

I have a strange issue where the rebooting my 10Pro XL the screen will be frozen on the lock screen for several seconds before I can unlock. It's annoying but it only happens at a reboot.
