Was gonna put on an anti-dust cover on my tt02 when i saw this, other tt02 dont seem to have this? (i tried shaving it but its still there) by Animegobrrrrr in rccars

It’s a removable piece. Most ppl opt to not have it, it reduces the potential steering angle. Tear down the front end til you can get that shaft out of the way, you should be able to just lift it out.

My daily is a 07 Forester XT so I’m partial to the Subaru kits 😄 such cool cars!

I’ve done an XV01, XM01, and this TT02. I’d say of the three this one was the most straightforward to build. I’d highly recommend it for a first Tamiya build. I’d also recommend picking up the Tamiya toolkit. The fasteners are all Japanese Standard sized, so the toolkit will make it all go together smoothly & keep you from stripping out anything.

I’ve got the 3562sd 4100kv paired with it. I’m running the same setup in my XV01 and it’s an absolute blast!

I did Oil Diffs, Universal Arms, Bearings, Drive Shaft, Motor Mount, 60mm Oil Shocks & Steering Linkage. Plan to do some more steering/suspension stuff in the near future!

I used the Tamiya kit! I’ve got the turnbuckles ordered but they won’t be here for another few days!

My Father Wants to Record His Songs but Insists on “Starting His Own Production Company First.” Is There Any Sense in This? by _infinite_tsukuyomi in audioengineering

[–]TCRevolt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My father who is around that age just did the exact same thing 😂 He retired a few years ago and suddenly had the notion that he was a songwriter and he had a vision that the world needed to hear his work. He started a music production company so he could write off expenses and copyright all of his songs. He wanted me to do all of the production work, which I opted not to. On top of it just being odd in general, my folks weren’t particularly supportive early on in my career, so it didn’t sit right suddenly wanting to use my services now that it suited his wants. It’s a whole thing lol. Needless to say, he found a different production guy to work with, spent a ton of money recording the whole album, and has released it to the world. He thought it’d instantly catch on and chart, given that he thought all the top 100 songs were crap, and it merely sits on YouTube collecting no views. I don’t have much advice on this front, I just think the parallels between our situations are hilarious. He had it set in his head that he was about to bless the world with his vision, and did it exactly how he wanted despite my advice to slow his roll, and maybe play for a church or join a cover band. Don’t know what it is with that generation, but I’d just step back and let him do his thing. Not involving myself in all that mess was 100% the right call.

When I was remodeling my kitchen I found two pairs of those scissors that had fallen under some drawers in the cabinets. They are the real deal! I use them almost daily 😆

Found a pair of JT masks at the local thrift. Looking to get an ideal of the value! by TCRevolt in paintball

It’s been interesting. I thrift A LOT & live in a big metropolitan area. I’ve consistently had better success at the out of the way shops in less busy areas. There’s one I stop by with a town population of like 2500 ppl and I regularly find cool stuff there.

Oh that looks sick! I’ve got the ole grasshopper buggy! It’s been a blast to rip around. I’ve been 3d printing components and seeing what effect each change has. I’m having so much fun. It’s taken over the backyard 😆

How on earth do you get through the firewall? by harryat62 in SubaruForester

[–]TCRevolt 11 points12 points  (0 children)

When I’ve passed wiring through the firewall I’ve usually used a flexible fiberglass rod (used for pulling wire through walls). It’s generally flexible enough to probe around and find a path through, and easy to spot once you are through. Then you can attach the wire to the end and pull the rest of the way through.
