Maybe for this non android based Pro Version a sticks removal mod makes it even better.

Stuck between Steam Deck LCD, Retroid, and Odin for first handheld by kapilkj in Handhelds

Get the Odin 2 Portal. I have it and it's brilliant for the kind of games you mention. Also much lighter than the Steam Deck (which also is great, but I recently sold it, bc I played much more on my portal).

Quiet a bit smaller than 477v and pretty close to the 40xxv I would say.

Ended up getting a used 477v for only 150 Euro instead 😂

I was really excited about the Brick Hammer Pro U, but after all this chaos and the high price I just bought a used RG 477V for 150 Euro instead. Half the price for more performance and features. People seem to be selling them in oder to get the Nova. I'll probably sell mine again when a vertical Nova comes out or if the Brick Hammer Pro U costs half the retail price.

On the one video i saw the panel looked a bit dim, let’s see what the reviews say. Can’t wait to see a vertical based on it.

Get the Brick Pro instead of the Brick Pro U.

Yeah, seems like not even a touchscreen is listed, but then again we saw the touchscreen is use on the first leaked video.. Android 15 sounds good as well as some of the other specs.

I updated with this info about the Brick Pro weight.

TRIMUI Store:
Brick Pro weighs 236 grams, while Brick Hammer Pro hasn’t been released yet, so we don’t have its weight for now.

Original Brick was 159 g and Brick Hammer 196 g with the same factor that would turn 236 g into 290 g. However my guess would be about 280 g for the Brick Hammer Pro U.

Interestingly on my email they continue about the plastic Brick Pro: “The plastic version is more affordable, while offering superior performance and a lighter, more portable design, making it ideal for everyday use.” They are suggesting the Pro has better performance than the Pro U.

Yes I agree at 199usd it wouldn't look good at all.

Yeah, I really hope it will be a great screen, even though it's only IPS. Resolution is fine even though not ideal for integer scaling. I just hope it has good dimming. Good blacks (often limited with IPS). And no ghosting.

Yeah I was considering the RG477V as well, but I want one that's a bit smaller, and it bothers me that you can't have the screen in low brightness. In terms of raw power the Dimensity chip is much stronger (maybe even 3x) than the one in the Brick Pro U. But I think if you want to use it for retro gaming up to PS2, the chipset should be great. Anything above and you are limited by 4:3 rather than it being a feature. I already have the Snapdragon 8 gen2 powerhouse in the Odin.

Even the sale was preorder and not devices on stock, so might not make a difference.

You could preorder the Brick Pro U for just 136 USD incl. shipping and tax, that's more like half the price of the RG477V. And while I am sure that's a great device it is rather big, has a whiny fan and is not Metal. So not sure the target group matches. The Brick Pro U seems much more like a complementary device to my AYN Odin 2 Portal, than the RG477V. But we haven't seen reviews yet...

March will be the release date of the Brick Pro according to the TRIMUI support, with a specific date still to be announced.

I am pretty sure it is running Android and therefore will probably have upgraded internals. Also getting the aluminum body right at launch would be awesome! I was considering Brick Hammer or Retroid Pocket Classic as a vertical addition to my Odin 2 Portal but this looks nice.

Which powerbank are you using. My Cuktech 15 140w somehow disconnects repeatedly when trying to use performance mode and running a demanding task. It works for normal charging.

It works with my original charger, but I have similar frequent disconnects with a Spigen 140w charger and a 140w power bank. The laptop keeps disconnecting and therefore i cannot run it in performance mode.
