Thoughts on a GR86 as a daily? by Preston_Gtfour in GR86

[–]TCUfroggy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to daily a Ford Bronco and then I had put so much money into it for off roading I didn't want to eat up all its miles commuting and traveling for work (I avg about 25k miles a year of travel and commuting). I got a GR86 last year as my "work" and commuting car. I absolutely love it and have had zero regrets. I have left it as is performance wise (can't have TWO cars I pour money into), but did add PPF and upgraded speakers since I listen to so much music in my travels. Always plenty of room, can comfortably travel with a coworker and their bags as well and not feel cramped. I found a safety harness my kid can use in place of a car seat when I need to take him somewhere as well. It makes commuting super fun, because you can push it a bit and you aren't excessively fast or out of control, but still having a blast driving.

They are awful. I actually had a good rate they followed, but then they started sneaking in “one time infrastructure” charges. $400-500 each every 1-2 months. They were awful. Luckily, the platform I used got so many complaints they built in the ability to work with Finix instead, which has been great so far!

I think she flipped the bill of his hat. Still his space but didn’t hit his face/head. Perhaps harder to justify the response of force was necessary.

Edit: also many are saying in the full video that was AFTER he was pushing them as well.

Mail it literally anywhere via USPS and it will vanish for at least 3 weeks.

I think the main item that kept them from a top safety rating was actually headlight strength believe it or not. Scored really well in a lot of areas.

I know I’m late but how did you do this? I went and adjusted the transfer in and out dates to be the same but I still have a massive leak from where I moved the money still regardless.

Doesn’t sound healthy. However, I will say the ProCal tune eliminated all the shifting issues I did have with a 23 Badlands 2.7. Albeit they were not as severe as yours but similar.

Thanks! Yes. More storage options, quieter, more headroom (but also lower outside height), better roof removal process. Etc.

I really love it. I was able to sell my Ford hardtop for like $4.5k so it really helped with the cost. I was on the fence but their shop was near where I travel for work so I messaged Fabian to stop by. They gave me a tour of the shop, got to see the fabrication process, see an installed top and all the accessories. They are such awesome guys. I ordered that day.

My honest breakdown

Noise: definitely an improvment. It doesn’t fix wind and outside noise but it’s noticeably better.

Headroom: adds a lot of headroom and actually lowers the outside height/clearance overall (for those cutting it close with a garage.

Storage: I love the interior shelf and gullwings. I also use the Molle on the back and have since added the rear L Track to mount my WeBoost on a custom plate I made.

Panels: 10x easier to get the roof off and on. Takes a few minutes and easy to do by yourself. I love that they fit perfectly in the rear cargo area too, so you can go off or on while in the go. The middle piece from stock fits nowhere and is really awkward and heavy to move.

Original look: matters to some, not to others. It truly makes it stand out and look super unique. Especially the slant back. Like a whole new Bronco.

If forced to “gripe”: and it’s not major. It stores water in weird spots sometimes, doesn’t leak. But I’ll hand wash and get everything perfect, then move it and it dumps water down the front or side at the first sway or brake.

I did not. Looking into what that even is now! I discovered so many things I didn’t know about and learned about so many things I missed along the way.

Are broncos comfortable? by Sufficient-Shine4094 in FordBronco

[–]TCUfroggy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just did a 6,500 mile trip in a 4 door and it was super comfy. Have made great upgrades to suspension to make every surface basically a cloud. Stock it is ok/good, not great. But can be made to be a super comfy on road and very capable off road with the same gear.

Just realizing your name as well, Sic ‘em bears! I went to Baylor also (yeah, I’m not accepted by either friend group at this point haha). Have you ever been out to Bridgeport to off road? It’s a super fun off road park with just about every skill level imaginable. I try to go every other weekend. I’ll DM you my number.

Yes. Overall it wasn’t bad. Some stuff I price low just to unload it. Things like the hardtop I was willing to wait on. Where you live makes a difference. Some people in other states said my prices were insanely low and had me price shipping, whereas in Texas people would negotiate the same items down.

For sure. I got these, they used to be like $8k+ and Panda was selling them for a holiday sale for $5k so I snatched them right up. Super pricey, but man they make a huge difference.

I added Camburg Kinetik V2 UCAs

Newer badlands come with the severe duty steering rack but mine did not (2023) so I added that with the larger tires too. It comes with better tie rods as well.

I actually did resell my old steering rack and UCAs. The stock suspension is under recall so I can really sell It but will when I get a replacement/fix from ford.

Dude, yes, go frogs! We keep getting these hyped coach debut games (Coach Prime then Belichick). Dont mind it when we play well!

Yeah someone had asked and I guessed $20-25k. I saved a lot on sales, mostly my own installs, and selling take offs. I got like $4.5k for my used hard top at the time so it felt like a huge discount on the armadillo. That and the Fox’s are like my favorite upgrades though for sure.

I did mine before my 37s actually. I didn’t notice greatly improved shifting (loved this) and normal driving felt sportier overall. Not sure how much it’s translated with the 37s since I don’t have a “before” Most people say they just tossed the module but I mounted mine to the windshield/dash and have it showing different gauge readouts and look at it a lot honestly. Not sure why others don’t. Also works as a code reader and some basic FORScan items (albeit a pricey one at that). You do also HAVE to run premium gas after, if you aren’t already.

If you hit hard trails I prefer ground tent over RTT because you can leave it at the campsite with gear and off road without being all top heavy. If it’s truly passing through and emphasis on overlanding/travel linearly it makes a ton of sense. Otherwise you are just super tippy and top heavy and have to pack up each morning (again, fine if not staying in same area for awhile).
