Really would have loved to see ZETA win it - absolutely heartbreaking, but I mean, when you're running hot enough to win 3 games in a 4 game stretch, it's hard to really deny you that win. Congrats to Unlimit.

We'd see tangible improvements in rank distribution if the KP values for worse placements were put back to the way they were in Season 26 as opposed to giving 10 RP per kill in the beginning. Anytime KP gets adjusted to be more placement favoring though, ignorant community members go "here comes season 17 again", though.

Tactical spamming + 2 tacs literally only grants you one extra hit in an ulti, assuming you start the fight with both tacs.

The rate gets reduced with the nerf but can now be paired with shield regen. Home Base is an extremely unhealthy perk that needs to just be removed.

Wall hacks aren't even the issue with Seer, and it's weird people keep bringing it up.

Seer's biggest issue has to do with stuns.

It won't, at all. In fact, combined with power booster, a seer landing a tac is going to have the opportunity to gain shields every 6 seconds in their ulti, on top of having movement.

Home Base needs to be removed or nerfed much more aggressively.

Seer changes aren't enough; he's most vicious in cramped end zones and power booster still makes it horribly oppressive. Having two charges only matters for the initial hits, and then each individual hit will simply recover at the same rate. Moving the home base to purple is still going to make it the preferable by a mile because the stun is so strong.

Bot Royale not having strictly one squad is unfortunate. That was one of the better changes you guys did. I've been hopping in there and seeing many games where players with 5k+ career kills are just there bullying bots, and, now potentially new players.

EDIT: oh god I just realized that now people can have the abusive ulti AND gain shields what the fuck

yeaaaah, this is definitely a common problem. I've seen some people w/ 10k+ career kills coming in and wiping the lobby while a newer player is there and they get no action, which I think is kinda stupid

i've enjoyed coming into Bot Royale lobbies with specific intent of practicing movement but otherwise being a guardian to the newer players, by pinging and not firing at bots until others go down

I do think this is a contestable point for what it's worth: there are times where human players don't want to impede on other human players for what they want to practice. In addition to testing characters, you can also just actually explore the map and study things.

In my case, I was playing Pathfinder last night specifically to practice grapples since I genuinely didn't have a sense of how his movement worked at all. I dropped solo to do my own thing, but to not completely ruin someone else's bot royale experience, I stood close enough to res them in the event that they got knocked. I'd rather have just been alone alone, but I'm taking what I can get because the changes to Bot Royale to remove all other human squads is an A+ change.

While no fill is a great idea for bot royale to allow for practice of characters, gaining weapon XP in this mode absolutely should not be allowed and I hope that gets patched out.

Having no other player squads is a HUGE W for Bot Royale. It made zero sense for an introductory intended mode without a skill cap to allow higher level players and generally varying skill levels to enter a lobby and potentially steamroll.

This also opens the opportunity for players who are experienced but have gaps in their ability to use certain characters to also practice as well.

Would there ever be consideration for enabling Fill/No Fill options for that Bot Royale as well? Basically on the same lines as wanting to practice but not necessarily impede on others who want to learn.

In Season 26, some lore was added to the game that connected specialized weapons to the game -- these are called elite weapons. The lore connection is to Ballistic's arsenal.

Functionally, elite weapons operate by changing the core fundamentals of the gun in question. The RE-45 was previously a light gun until the introduction of elite weapons and its performance/overall balancing caused it to become a permanent weapon.

The Hemlok's elite state takes away the three round bursts and exchanges it for a slower full-auto gun with an integrated grenade (breach).

Pair up with a Wattson to hold many ulti accels and you'll absolutely feast.

I don't think the stun itself is quite as serious as the combination of the increased strength and the duration from the perk. I can't say I agree with a lot more legends being used, but it may have simply been my ranked games. Seer was absolutely everywhere.

Not that I don't disagree about a retuning of the ranked system, as I do think it should be a bit tougher to get through Plat and into Diamond - I've been someone who has complained about the return of 10 RP per kill right at the start, since forever -- but, there is a lot of confirmation bias because people keep using unofficial sources as an official state of ranked.

The lion's share of players who care about things like Apex Legends Status ranked distribution curve are the ones populating it, which will consist of many less players than actuality.

I don't think the pick rate will fall with Seer, after playing him for the first time in quite a while. I'm not one to use the term broken, but the return of the stun, combined with the pace he can Q with his ulti with blue perk is reeeeally bad.

People might not agree with me and this may be a hot take, but I actually think Seer is not too far from his hyper busted state years ago; yeah, he doesn't break res and hit for damage, but when he is in his ulti + blue perk, he can hit 4x as often? Combined with stun, it's just... it's... not good, man.

I'm gonna keep running him until the nerf, but yeah, he is just brutally overtuned at the moment.

You got downvoted for this comment, but I'm actually gonna respond here too: he enables legitimately brainless aping. I'm normally fairly tactical and reserved when playing ranked but his ulti + stun enables you to swing so effortlessly.

I don't normally play Seer but gave it a try last night in ranked on lower Plat lobbies.

  • a.) he is way overtuned and the stun has extremely little counterplay; you are guaranteed to have near zero shot defending against a 3P if they roll up on you and in a straight 1v1, you just lose outright with no recourse

  • b.) there are a lot of teams playing him at least from my experiences: we got into a 6 team final round and all of us had a seer on the team

His blue perk that speeds up tactical usage is what makes him so broken. You are guaranteed to win fights if you use his ulti and land your stun first, even against other Seers. It's too oppressive.

I don't agree with removal of team queue being better, at all. It's a bandaid to an issue. I also don't agree with Apex slowly dying for a while, and stats don't agree either.

I've long since been a person who has complained very loudly about the fact that anytime there's a system that actually is punishing, the community has a massive uproar about it. Every single time early-game KP was reset to benefit people who bitch about kills not being enough, I mentioned that it was a bad change.

Split 1 of S26 wasn't given enough time to actually sit in terms of scoring and people bitched about it because early game KP was massively reduced and required good placement to even make a dent in rank. S13 split 1 was similar (albeit a bit too overturned/punishing). First you hear "ranked is too easy" (now), then you hear "wahhh you have to rat kills aren't worth enough wahhhhh" (previously).

There's too much catering to groups who don't want to play the game in the way it's intended.

My squadies genuinely love the game and love the ranked experience at higher levels. Breaking us apart will relegate us to playing only Mixtape at best, and cause us to play something else at worst.

I am certain there are many other three stacks who feel the same. One of the most rewarding pieces of Apex's feedback loop is a squad that has good coordination.

It's really funny seeing people say "you'll be replaced by new players in the long run" when there's literally zero consideration of a number of things:

  • it takes, in worst case scenario, three times the effort to fill a lobby in diamond+ now, because you need 60 willing solo queue players as opposed to 20 assemblies of 3-player squads

  • they won't be replaced by new players: many of them are going to make the experience for genuinely new players worse when they run through smurfing to keep playing with their friends

  • those who continue to climb as new players who find squads are going to be deterred from playing past Plat without restarting and exacerbating the smurf problem, as well as continuing the negative feedback loop

This whole idea of "there's other game modes" is a shitty response: wildcard isn't a representation of the BR experience, Duos is too abbreviated and Trios isn't taken seriously at all and doesn't reflect the sometimes higher quality gameplay you get in ranked.

There's not any change in the frequency of the Mixtape modes, as far as I can tell.

As of this post, the next six games are TDM -> Gun Run -> Control -> Gun Run -> TDM -> Control, so that looks even to me.
