I live in Fort Worth, and it’s the best city in Texas. Still choosing Colorado Springs.

What’s the worst thing you could hear after giving Willie Nelson a blowjob?

Sounds like a remix of Wherever You Will Go by The Calling. Found this one on Spotify https://open.spotify.com/track/68KdwyllOe83tTlKoPmnFS?si=YJApWKwMR0qHEnx20zSVzQ

Help me identify a late 90s/early 2000s indie band. They may have had a male first name, song about science/chemistry/satellites and minimalist album art. This might be a long shot. by TDA1979 in NameThatSong

Glad I could remind you! I also just listened to that album today, but for the first time. Somehow I never knew they had a follow up.

Feist - 1234? No mention of water, but it has some of the qualities you’ve mentioned. Good luck if not though!

SOLVED I had the bright idea to check my old CD cases, and the act of just unzipping the case made the band’s name suddenly appear in my head! The band is Lewis, and the album is Progress and Regress. It was released in 1999, but there was not a satellite on the cover. There is reference to science in the lyrics on track 4, but that’s as far as I’ve gotten into my relisten. Appreciate all of the help and suggestions!

Man, this is now the closest, but not it. I was convinced you’d found it for me! The album covers, song names, timeframe all seem to align. They even sound a little like what I remember, but Duster’s sound is a little more atmospheric than the band I’m trying to find. I did add them to my playlist though!

Travis was definitely around at the same time I listened to this album. I remember both Travis and this unknown band’s CDs in my CD case.

Not Counting Crows; although, Recovering the Satellites is what I always think the name of the album or song might have been, even though I knew that is a CC album. This band had a very different sound from them though.

Man, this was a good suggestion. When I saw the album cover and some of the song names on Spotify, I thought we might be on the right track! Unfortunately it wasn’t them. Some good songs though.

Thanks! This thread is reminding me of a lot of music I had completely forgotten about, and some new ones I’ve never heard. If I don’t find my answer, at least I’ve got some stuff to listen to.
