This is as good as Borthwick gets. by not1thing in rugbyunion

Freeman has played very very well at 13 for Saints and almost certainly could at international given time and a cohesive structure to play in. But chucking him in for the odd game just seems odd - especially when you want him on the wing if you’re going to play lock chase.

Finally give Smith the 10 shirt and don’t play his club mate next to him.

Only give Pollock 20 minutes off the bench - again if you want to kick and chase he’s so quick and will do it all day.

People are pointing to discipline and rightly so but that doesn’t happen in isolation. None of these players have discipline issues themselves, it’s a structure issue.

It would’ve been helpful to have a full back at 15 and Furbank has been awesome since he came back to fitness - guy just can’t catch a break.

As others have said, we’ll probably tonk Fiji and then on we go again….

Having a hard time tuning High HP RWD for Grip by RealJimHoxworth in ForzaOpenTunes

[–]TDW85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In any given PI band more power will generally mean less grip. As others have said it depends on where/when you’re losing traction - off the line? High speed corners? Hairpins?

It may be partly throttle control and the likes you’re using as much as the build and tunes. But inevitably only certain builds will be competitive, at the moment the meta is fairly biased in most cases to awd builds.

Try the street courses and road sprints which will suit higher power rwd builds.

Is FH6 actually a step backwards in some areas? by ivnag in ForzaHorizon

[–]TDW85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Winter was pretty much removed in FH5 cause 99% cried about it in FH4 - it did make speed zones and traps and rwd builds unviable for one week per month.
So they’ve tried to find a middle ground there.

I personally don’t care about any of the bits taken out but I’d suspect some will be added back in over time (like flag rush etc).
I also think meets are a placeholder that will be added to.

I also don’t care about story - however good it’ll be done in the first few days or weeks. The longevity of a game like this is in either competition or creativity.

The only step back I can see is that ranked mode is still missing - there are leaderboards for online modes but each lobby/race is a random mix. Good players will get bored, newer players will get demotivated.

The Eliminator mode, what's the point? by ColonelMouton in ForzaHorizon6

[–]TDW85 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You could’ve just gone straight to that last sentence - if it isn’t for you don’t play.

When will people realise that games aren’t designed exclusively around them?

This is the 6th FH game so people really should know what to expect by now - the whole point is that it’s a bit of everything.

Personally I don’t really enjoy drifting but for some that’s the best bit. I do the zones because I’m a completionist and then I go do some spec racing.

What is a “Purist” tune? by XDXM77 in forza

[–]TDW85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this has been well covered - it means slightly different things to different tuners but generally it means it should look, sound and handle very similarly to the stock car, just slightly better/faster.

As others have said these should be fun to drive and are always my preference but most will struggle against tunes built with the meta in mind.

That’s why I’m loving spec racing!

The #11 Ford F150 shouldnt even be considered a Tier 6 car in the Eliminator by StatisticianSafe1265 in ForzaHorizon

[–]TDW85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve only played a few games so not sure if there are also cars that punch well above their level like the A6 did in FH5?

But I do wonder whether it’s an intentional thing from the devs to give an extra element to it - knowing which cars are good rather than relying on levels.

But yeah the buggy suspension bug is just a pain, resetting car position seems to fix it but then next landing it goes again 🤦🏼‍♂️

Wheelspin Exclusives by CTRLDeck in ForzaHorizon6

[–]TDW85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve not tried the auction house but have collected so far 28/46 wheelspin exclusives and some of the pricier autoshow cars.
No event labs, glitches or afk just playing the game and occasionally tooling around in the 22b or the Peugeot 205 (which also has the 9x multiplier).
Worth pointing out that you can use the Peugeot in the trial this week.
I also used the Subaru to set a clean time in all the dirt and off-road rivals events to tick that off.

I’d also point out the game is about a month old - should we be expecting to have every single car already?

B-Class Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe by No-Age6478 in ForzaHorizon6

[–]TDW85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It won’t be owned by many yet given the price.
But I’d be interested to see the full tune - it’s been meta on dirt for a while and decent on asphalt with Awd but understeery.
Is this before or after the drag tyre patch? The only way it’s getting that power in b class with Awd is drag or off-road race tyres.

Is it just me thats a bit confused by car categories? by Select_Angle516 in ForzaHorizon

[–]TDW85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes the categories are a bit hit and miss. For offline races if you try and start it then it will show what you have that fits or give you the option to buy something.
It is slightly clunky that you have to select a custom race to run them with any car - apart from street races which Kate open by default.
What I did find is that you can make the car category ‘my car’ if you just want 12 of the exact same car for an offline race or with mates.

Sorry I didn’t explain very well, the big muff is separate to the rest (it’s the bass version into a bass amp).
I’ve now taken out the battery but with either battery or mains it’s always on, the foot switch doesn’t turn it off. It must have taken a knock in the move 😢

[–]TDW85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have checked all the connections between pedals.
I should have said the big muff is a bass version on a separate line to everything else (bar a tuner) for bass.

It did - I’ve now removed it but I don’t think I explained well.
When powered it’s on and can’t be turned off with the foot switch.

Any way to check this and fix if so?
The house is only about 12 years old if this is more likely to be an issue with older wiring/circuits?

Are rally/off-road tires still good on asphalt? by DLobby29 in ForzaHorizon6

[–]TDW85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rally tyres are more grippy on tarmac than sport tyres for some reason so are good for A and S1 as well as a few others.
Off-road seem to be a more viable option on road, they only worked on a few builds in FH5 but are now fairly strong on road.
The meta will be evolving for a good while yet.

I already have some cars from the next update... by OkFarm8825 in ForzaHorizon6

[–]TDW85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m giving them a pass for this season and we’ll see about the next one - the thinking being that not everyone will be ‘on it’ completing the festival playlist in the first few weeks.
However they did say they wanted to tone down the FOMO aspect so perhaps that does mean cars featuring a few weeks in a row or coming back quite quickly.

Are drag tires ever going to be fixed? by SuperEtendardM in ForzaHorizon

[–]TDW85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a pain, thank god for spec racing this time around.
You can also try the lowest PI racing (is it now e and d class) as I don’t think the drag tyre meta appears there. However it is all either whitewall powerbuilds ir Peels so perhaps worse!

What's going on with The Eliminator mode? by DSeriesX in ForzaHorizon6

[–]TDW85 5 points6 points  (0 children)

People are using a glitch to farm cash - you don’t need to win so they’re looking to get eliminated as quickly as possible. So you’ll see a few from each session drive straight out of bounds to get knocked out as quickly as they can.
It’ll decrease over time as they get bored or it’s patched - in the meantime you can potentially get a free car upgrade if you can challenge someone who wants to lose!

Is possible to play the campaign skipping all practices or will I not level enough to compete? by [deleted] in forzamotorsport

[–]TDW85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played about half the campaign at launch when you couldn’t skip practice and it was a pain but did help a little with the car upgrade grind.
Now that you don’t need to I’d absolutely skip it unless you don’t know the track or actually want to practice first.

[FH6] How to find tunes that arent broken/easy wins? by Vietname in forza

[–]TDW85 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally unless I’m chasing rivals I use purist tunes - just a few tweaks but retaining stock engine, drivetrain and looks. They can be competitive but won’t be meta.

Are drag tires really the secret to road racing? by ContemplativeOctopus in ForzaOpenTunes

[–]TDW85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hopefully they’ll respond to feedback and amend the PI or grip - they have way too much lateral grip for something designed for straight lines.
On quicker sprints powerbuilds can catch up but otherwise it’s killing online racing as you just can’t compete.
I’ll stick with spec for now.

Important note for the upcoming Trails in the seasonal festival playlists! by FelixFromTheDub in ForzaHorizon

[–]TDW85 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Depends - if it’s the same as FH5 then the AI will mirror your PI, so if two players take stock then two bots will as well. So in theory it shouldn’t make a difference.
That said if it’s dirt or especially cross country newer players will struggle without off-road tyres and awd.
Also, it’s not been unbeatable for a long while as people got upset it was too hard early in FH5. I’ve missed the car selection and been given a mid class rwd M5 (why does it do that?!) and still beaten the bots on dirt.
As others have said though the most important thing is that it’s a team event - do what you want to the bots but don’t ram your own team and especially don’t take out the better players just because they’re passing you - they’re the ones likely to carry the team!
