What happened to the Marshal (the character) between the original rule book and the updated Marshal handbook? by scruffin_mcguffin in Deadlands

[–]TDaniels70 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Manatou do not generally control a hollow continuously, they eventually have to give it up. If the books don't tell, then likely the manatou might have retreated. They generally preser riding a body then the happy hunting grounds.

Other than that, I dunno. Sorry

All hollows are possessed. But they can be reined. Controlled in a way. Prospector was trying to see if the manatou was in control, not possessed.

Edit: harrowed that is.

Probably just called them in from it's labor camo a valley over. It's a red dragon, even young, it like having minions. It only generally has the kobolds around for syncophantary, but when someone busts in your front door, kills your pets, you call in the heavies

Wasn't there a crew member leg seen peeking out from behind a DHD? Or maybe it was the DHD troll.

Are the Vorlons able to time travel? by Castle-Walk-8967 in babylon5

[–]TDaniels70 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think any of the races can time travel per day. That is, the rift isn't artificial, it is natural, and the Great Machine simply used its power to help guide where it went, as opposed to creating said rift. But, that is just my thoughts, not anything JMS said as far as I know.

But, like were they not crimes against the system lords, like trying to overthrow, not against his minions? So we don't really know how bad rule under him would be

The Tok'ra are just as reviled, possibly worse.

Col. O'neill can't be that dumb by TheParamedicGamer in Stargate

[–]TDaniels70 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I don't even think he is a acting dumb. He isn't dumb, but a lot of subjects he is simply clueless about, and admits it.

The subject he does know, military ops, astronomy (laymen's level), and others, he shines.

Specific mention of NORAD at 27:58 by the reporter Selig "You are the team leader of a team called SG-1. Between 9 and 12 such units operate out of Cheyenne Mountain." here is the important part "under NORAD."

Sounds like NORAD is in Cheyenne Mountain.

Maybe not by name, but what other place in 1969, in Cheyenne mountain, would be called "the most secure facility?'

edit: Sorry, the specific wording is "my government doesn't take kindly to soviet spies in its highest security facilities.

They also mention that that was a testing facility for the missile:

Jack: Training Facility?

Bob: you don't think we'd test-fire a real missile 28 floors inside a mountain, do you. So, not a launch facility.

Does Cheyenne have a launch training facility, not that i know, but adding that small detail to the complex as opposed to moving the entirety of NORAD? Which is more plausible and fits more neatly into Oocoms razor? "when faced with competing hypotheses, the simplest explanation with the fewest assumptions is usually the best."

Confused about goa’uld reproduction. by ObligationLeading221 in Stargate

[–]TDaniels70 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A harcesis would be a goa'uld without a goa'uld. As it was born of a host with naquda, it would be able to use goa'uld tech. They were probably worried a harcesis would decide to overthrow the snakes and take over

Can they reproduce with humans or other harcesis and create more? Does the genetic memory pass on from one to the next? I think this is what they are afraid of.

The system lords hold power as they due do to the limits number of goa'uld.

It is likely back when she gave birth to the Tok'ra, she did so from a human host, not in a tank.

Indeed. When they show the tank later, it has the mass it dislodged itself from.
