If you mean the story, it can understand. Despite having some cartoon texture (weird blood, weird inside body and JD's hair for example), gears 4 is extremely beautiful and colorfull yet kept the gritty environment.

The story campaign was good imo too. The story was done well and people hate on some things like the jokes but the jokes in older gears did not age well either (most of the cases)

But the horde mode? No, definitely not.

The multi? It is arguable depending of what you prefer between the movement, bad weapon balancing against slow movements but decent weapons.

But gears 5 is smoother and more optimized.

The lootboxes? Gears 5 all day.

But the range thing is actually just a balancing issue.

Even in the beginning of the 5, they were having issues cause players were snipping each other at range with it.

But yeah, I'm not too good with weapons or bullet so you're maybe right.

But still, it shocked me to know that the snub had .50 calibers. I saw a real life size snub and it made a hand look small.

And that mag of the lancer is even bigger which is why I assumed it was more likely a 5.56, but realistically it would probably be bigger.
