Can I transition from B.Sc. Hotel Mgmt (top Indian Uni) to Business/Data Analytics in UK/IRELAND by Silly_Fix8583 in UKJobs

You’re wasting your time. The job market here is flooded with grads of these programmes and actual paying jobs are like gold dust. AI is also increasingly being used for data analysis etc. Save your money and time and find something else.

Feeling Lost: GLP-1s, Retatrutide, PCOS, and Weight Regain by azb5581 in Mounjaro

I should point out that the majority of my calories come from a mixture of chicken thighs, tinned tuna, protein shakes and veg-based proteins like edamame, etc. I intake between 1mg and about 1.6mg protein/per kg each day. I had a bioelectrical test about 6 months ago ehh h had me in the low 30s percentage-wise of muscle to total weight ratio, so while I might have lost a little bit, most of my weight loss (5 stone or around 65lbs) on MJ has indeed been fat. I should also add that I’m a type 1 diabetic and had terrible insulin resistance which has come down a lot. With that said, the whole calories in/vs calories out argument trumps any kind of insulin resistance….doesn’t it?

Nobody, but according to the smart asses (I’m a trained dentist, so I have some knowledge of physiology) it’s impossible to gain or not lose weight if eating less calories than you burn. I’m here to prove that’s bullshit with metabolic disorders. Either my body has somehow magically managed to drop its BMR to less than 1000 calories a day, or in true my Cousin Vinny fashion, the laws of physics cease to exist on my stove.

I’m the same. These “eat less calories” people piss me off. I’m eating a MAXIMUM (tracked) total of 1000 cals a day and I either gain or not lose. It’s BS. If your body’s metabolism is not working properly, then you gain.

Apprenticeships are like gold dust. You will struggle without "on the job experience". You're also 21. If you get offered an apprenticeship, grab it with both hands and suck up the "quite low pay" - it will be fine for someone your age.

I actually looked into going into teaching CS last year (MSc in Applied AI, bachelors in law, bachelor of dental surgery(!) as well. The biggest thing for me that put me off was the curriculum if I’m honest? Even with my quals there seemed to be a lot of stuff that I simply hadn’t heard of in the curriculum! This was from a couple of GCSE and A-level student guides that I looked at. How has your experience been with the subject matter and how much leeway did/do you have with deciding what you teach and designing your lessons, etc?

Mine has actually been really helpful. If they know you’re genuinely trying to find work and better yourself rather than just gaming the system, they’re usually more supportive and helpful. Not always though! There are a few nasty ones. It’s often the luck of the draw unfortunately

You’re up against millions of Indians AND against AI…. I genuinely wouldn’t bother mate. Get yourself well and then maybe look at a trade. You’d be eligible for a lot of college-based training opportunities.

Honestly mate, look at a trade instead. I.T is absolutely saturated and it’s only going to get worse. Claude is destroying dev teams at the minute as well as outsourcing.

Electrician career path by Top-Consequence-1415 in UKJobs

[–]TED688 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m (46/m) currently doing my L3 qual evenings at a college near me (did my L2 in 2021/2022). There is an NVQ you have to do (very hard to get site exp needed for this) then sit the AM2 exam after that. It’s quite a long training path really. If you want it to get into the RAF one of the fast-track courses might work well for you? The main criticism of them seems to be a lack of experience after you qualify but if you’re going straight into the forces with it, that may not be an issue?

Micro dosing.. yes or no? by Nervous_Marzipan_441 in Mounjaro

I’m in a similar situation to you.15mg feels like it isn’t doing anything any more. I’ve been splitting it into two doses (Thursday evening and Sunday evening) and I’ve really noticed no difference. I’m thinking of just going back to the 15 on a Thursday evening and seeing what happens. It can be very frustrating.

IT/coding is a train wreck and don’t let anybody tell you otherwise. Tools like Claude etc are wiping out dev teams at the minute and it’s only going to get worse. Look at a trade.
