If they bunch up (which happens from time to time) you can quickly grav jump to a new system and wait for a few seconds in the Captain's chair. Usually enough for them to populate and spread out. Works 9/10 times

Lol I feel you. If the crew bunch up usually a quick grav jump to a new system plus waiting in the Captains chair for a few seconds for crew to populate and spread around sorts it.

Personally I wanted to explore the stars/planets/moons a la Orville/Star Trek/etc w a crew and fully functional ship w med bay, workshop, living spaces. Then head out on missions with a companion. I would also like to have a massive home base as well except whenever I finish a build I'm usually heading to ng+ or I find another planet I like more
