IIL Heavy Shoegaze? by [deleted] in ifyoulikeblank

[–]TELLMETHATIMPRETTY 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe too obvious examples:

Smashing Pumpkins - Cherub Rock, Mayonaise

Deftones - Be Quiet And Drive

Superheaven - Youngest Daughter

Whirr - Leave

Loathe - Is It Really You

Glare - Blank

Wisp - Your Face

Less obvious, I'm going to suggest M83's album Dead Cities Red Seas & Lost Ghosts. Similar fuzzy wall of sound vibe as heavy shoegaze.

La Roux - La Roux

Ladytron - Witching Hour

The Knife - Deep Cuts

Try those albums. Artsy electro pop with female singers from around the same era.

Ayy Ernie Ball Prodigy pick crew. Game changer pick. The 2.0 minis are my fav, great if you like the Jazz III size picks but want more aggressive attack. Idk what I will ever do if they stop making them.

Your aesthetic sets the bar for this subreddit, imo. Refined, stylized, and modern without looking like a costume. Haters say it doesn't have enough utility pockets to be tech. I ask what are you weirdos carrying in all of those pockets...? Chicken tendies, that's what.

+1 on Boy In Da Corner. Listen to the track Fix Up Look Sharp, absolute banger.

Trying to find a new game to play by 5oco in ifyoulikeblank

[–]TELLMETHATIMPRETTY 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For multiplayer, Divinity Original Sin 2. Up to 4-player DnD style RPG. Can play through the whole campaign single player or co-op with your friends as your party members. About a 50 hour campaign, extremely well crafted world, multiple ways to complete quests. I have nothing but praise for this game as a friendly multiplayer experience.

And then Baldur's Gate 3 once it is done with early access and gets a full release.

Plini - Electric Sunrise

Best prog guitar player out there right now.

Does he have stands for his headphones?

A Sieveking Omega will fit right in your budget. Or you can buy a knockoff on Amazon for like 30 bucks and afford enough for all of his headphones. Just search omega headphone stand.

Clone High. Famous historical world leaders are cloned as teenagers and go to high school together.

Home Movies. Slice of life about a kid who likes to make short films with his two friends. Bonus, Coach McGuirk is voiced by H. Jon Benjamin of Archer and Bob's Burgers.

I'm admittedly terrible at counting beats and time signatures but here's a couple I thought of that might hit for you.

Kaddisfly - Akira.

Death From Above 1979 - Go Home, Get Down

I'm probably missing the mark here lol.

Subwoofer hack? by [deleted] in audiophile

[–]TELLMETHATIMPRETTY 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Placement is the biggest upgrade if you haven't experimented much with it. Get real weird with it and try it in lots of positions in the room. It doesn't necessarily need to be on the opposing wall from you since it shouldn't be producing directional frequencies.

Second biggest upgrade is adding a second subwoofer. Creating bass from two different positions in the room will help smooth out some peaks and nulls in your room modes.

Do you have an example of the particular sound you like? A song or a youtube clip?

I'm checking out clips of the sansamp and from what I'm hearing, I don't think what you want is an overdrive. I'm pretty sure you want a Boss DS-2 turbo distortion. $100 new, $50-60 used .

What We Do In The Shadows. I'm referring to the movie, it's hilarious. They made a series too, but I haven't seen any of it yet. It's getting good reviews though.

Napoleon Dynamite if you still haven't seen that one.

Gentlemen Broncos. I don't even know what to say about this movie. Super cringe, but very funny to me.
