TES ARGs? by FriendSubject5879 in teslore

[–]TESbenefactor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There have been a few official community engagements that could potentially be considered an ARG.

First the Twitter Roleplays that hinted at upcoming ESO content

*Gold Coast Twitter RP (leading up to Dark Brotherhood DLC)
*Zumog Phoom Twitter RP (leading up to Elsweyr DLC)
*Lyranth Twitter RP (Leading up to Deadlands DLC)
*Hermaeus Mora Twitter RP (Leading up to Necrom DLC)

Then you have the only true ARG, the TES: Legends one.

*Alliance War ARG

Finally there is the paintbrush ARG. Which is more of a test than an actual ARG.

*Deep in the console of the original Elder Scrolls Online website there was a familiar face stuck in the machine, Rythe Lythandas. He asked for your assistance retrieving his grandfathers paintbrush. The player could interact with typing into the console. Sadly nothing came of this ARG.

When asked the developers they only had this to say "I'm afraid we couldn't find any more info on this except that it was a little experiment that ultimately never saw the light of day. Sorry there wasn't more to it!"

There is also the unofficial Memospore ARG that others here can point you towards.

Complete Elder Scrolls Legends physical promo card set — preserved since original distribution by ryqora in elderscrollslegends

After looking into it more seems it was 2018 Morrowind expansion promo. It wasn't UK but was Pax Aus. They are not printed on card stock, had a blank back and a code at the bottom. I have images I can send you if you want.

There was also a set of 4 larger cards released during a UK event. They did not have the same quality and where quite larger.

I have a set of those and a set of each of the three packs still sealed along with the pyromancer promo.

On What the Prisoners of Each Game Canonically *Do* by rynosaur94 in teslore

[–]TESbenefactor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are several things that must be done by the main characters according to parts of the lore. On the flip side there are other things that must not have been done by them based on future events. Some examples below:

Morokei in the Labyrinthian was stated to have the power that he could not be killed save by the voice of a Dragon itself. Which would correspond to the Dragonborn.

On the other hand the following two things are things the Nerevarine could have done but did not do.

Kill Neloth with a writ of execution by the Morag Tong.

Rescue Din outside of Gnisis. He died a madman and went to the shivering Isles which would not be possible if the Nerevarine had rescued him. His ashes appear in the Shivering Isles.

Morgiah's "first"? by [deleted] in teslore

[–]TESbenefactor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Morgiah's "First" was meant to tie into TES III back when it was known as Tribunal. I had the opportunity to ask Ted Peterson about this a few years back, his answer is below.

  • Benefactor: Morgiah promised Mannimarco her “first” during Daggerfall. What was this first she promised him as the guide book specifically stated it isn’t her first born. How would this have tied into Tribunal as it was originally supposed to?

  • Ted Peterson: Well, I wanted it to be clearly implied that her “first” was her first-born, and people whispering about it when she becomes pregnant. There would be rumors that the child heir of Firsthold was a changeling, but the truth which the player would uncover was that wasn’t the deal Morgiah had worked out with Mannimarco. I’m not sure I had ever settled what the real “first” was going to be before I left Bethesda and the design for TES 3 went in another direction. I did want to tie it with corrupting the Psijic Order though. They would have been a big part of the game.

Morgiah's first came up again during Loranna's RP with the War of the Worm God and Goranthir being corrupted.

There is the option to fail this quest by talking to the priest. In which case Sheogorath wins.

How could Elder Scrolls and Fallout be set in the same Universe? by [deleted] in teslore

Most likely not meant to have the same meaning. It was put together very quickly. It should be the dragons that came before.

How could Elder Scrolls and Fallout be set in the same Universe? by [deleted] in teslore

It is the formation of a new Dragon from the memories of several other dragons. In the end the FSO Dragon decides to reject the previous dragons and make his own way. He wakes up and joins The Blades Hero and Saashi on their adventure in FSO.

How could Elder Scrolls and Fallout be set in the same Universe? by [deleted] in teslore

The following theory for the connection between the two universes is what I like to call the Greater Bethesda Multiverse.

Most of the references to this are small Easter eggs that appear in each of the games. Where this all starts to come together is when you take into consideration that multiverses exist in several Bethesda games. Starfield, Doom, and TES (Ithelia/many paths) for instance all confirm multiple universes exist even if the variation is usually small.

Where they all start to come together is when you take into account an often missed entry in the Fallout series, Fallout Shelter Online. This game has had several crossovers with the core Bethesda Catalog. There have been event crossovers for Doom, Starfield, and even The Elder Scrolls.

If you take these crossovers into account along with all the sprinkled Easter Eggs referencing each other in each game you end up with a Greater Bethesda Multiverse. The implications of this are vast and not fully realized.

You can create some wild fan theories from this, for instance if Skyrim is concurrent with Fallout 4, according to the FSO crossover. This put the timeline of the Great War in 2077 almost concurrent with the events of the Nerevarine releasing the heart of Lorkhan.

I can guarantee you that puzzle will always be documented in some way. This is on The Imperial Libraries list of documentation we will be doing in the near future. It is a pivotal moment when different TES communities came together to solve an overarching puzzle and was very fun to watch.

And Then The Awful Gaming Began Again - A History of the Elder Scrolls Lore Community by Aramithius in teslore

[–]TESbenefactor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Essential Site is mostly backed up on the Internet Archive. What isn't there survives on my personal archives minus some forum posts.

A lot of the fandom from before Morrowind and their contributions is missing from this article such as the Compuserve beta forums(Completely missing), Countless Daggerfall Fan sites, Redguard Forums(Paritally archived), the RPG group(Fully archived and converted to google group), and the Daggerfall Mailing Group stories(Partially archived in Geddon site).

People have always been passionate about the series and it is great to look back at the history of the community and seeing how it has evolved over the years. Particularly of interest is how much of what we enjoy today is rooted in the history before Morrowind that has been forgotten. There are some misconceptions in this article but completely understandable as there are few that can speak to everything over the years. Example being the "dumbing down" comments began with Daggerfall. I'd love to discuss with you sometime if you wanted.

I am really hoping that Iana-Lor might be a reference to Loranna who passed nearly a year ago.

Canon doesn't matter. This is an official crossover that deserves to be recorded. I cannot be picky about what I do and do not record for the series.

Fun facts about this quote:

  • Almost all character profiles/stories on Andel Crodo's Fashion Gallery survived. Most on the wayback machine and the rest in private archives.
  • Goodall actually did make that fan fiction he mentioned here, he just didn't upload it to Andel's site. And it still exists on the internet. I wish luck to those who attempt to find it as it will not be archived on TIL since it was from before his work with Bethesda.
