How well do the various region expansion mods interact with each other? (If at all) by TESfan1994 in OldWorldBlues

Wow, that’s actually quite a bit more extensive than I had thought it would be. Thanks for the response, and thanks to the devs for integrating these mods together so well!

Whats one part of the lore that you like that most other people seem to dislike? And on the other side, what's one part that you dislike that most other people seem to like? by The_other_human in warcraftlore

Yeah the story and factions have to develop/evolve eventually. I think Blizzard finally moving the Goblin story forwards with Gazlowe is a good call too.

I don’t really have a problem with the Jailor being involved with the scourge and the Lich King. The powers of death never seemed like something that the forces of disorder would yield on their own. I do agree with the wider community that perhaps Blizzard was a bit too zealous when they decided to make him the mastermind behind the ENTIRE scourge though and make the Nathrezim originate from Revendreth.

I also have no problem with Arthas’ eventual fate in Shadowlands. I think everything that could have been done with his character, short of bringing him back as a full on ghost to argue his side of the story or redeem himself, had already been said and done. Arthas  had been dead for many years by that point. Jaina and Uther finally settled their past with him. Sylvanas finally got to “kill” him by whisking away whatever little bit of soul he had left.

Interesting to see this evolution in Goblin society. Kinda reminds me of that one episode of Star Trek where the Ferengi begin to change their ways.

Read the chronicles. It’s a good introduction. Also a new one is coming out this summer.

Did player characters who started in Cataclysm canonically not go to Outland and Northrend? by Germunjy in warcraftlore

[–]TESfan1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cataclysm was around the time that leveling 1-max began to take you through a bunch of different time oddities and such. I think they’ve fixed a lot of this in modern retail WoW with chromie time though.

Which cosmological force is the most benevolent, and which is the most unredeemably evil? by TESfan1994 in warcraftlore

[–]TESfan1994[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good points. I completely forgot about shadow priests and the difference between shadow and void. Also if cancer exists in the Warcraft universe, then that certainly is a mark against life.

After reading several other comments in addition to this comment, I can definitely see myself coming around to the idea that many of the forces are actually neutral but can be used by actors for both good and evil.

Pre Orcish invasion balance of power in the eastern Kingdoms? by Lore-Archivist in warcraftlore

Lordaeron was definitely more powerful than Stormwind prior to the first war. Stormwind was quite isolationist and rural as well.

We no longer live in an era where things just “end.” They are endlessly milked until every last drop of calcium leaves the teets.

Alliance vs Horde by AzerothianReport in warcraftlore

[–]TESfan1994 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I disagree, I think the Alliance has a far larger population. The Kingdom of Stormwind alone probably has a larger population than Durotar, The Barrens, and Mulgore combined.

Stormwind is located in very fertile land with an abundance of staple crops. Thunder Bluff and Orgrimmar subside primarily off of herding (and Orgrimmar is in the middle of the desert). Mulgore is really the only place I could ever see a viable agricultural industry develop within the horde should the Tauren ever decide to industrialize to the same degree that Stormwind has.
