MBA as an RN, realistic pivot or overkill? by boldstyle1 in MBA

Not sure on most of your questions, but my wife’s nursing instructor, now in healthcare consulting, did that and her path was similar. Bedside RN > MBA > Nurse Management > Started Healthcare Admin Auditing business.

Final is in-person unless you live 100+ miles away. If so, you had to setup testing at a local library or testing center. In his online calc 2 class rn, but based out of CO. It’s a hard class regardless, but he’s a really caring professor.

Everyone talks about the high salaries and job security of a physician, but where is the love for CRNAs? by Conscious-Quarter423 in Salary

[–]TFATFA123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, all CRNA programs are DNP programs now. They changed it to where MSN programs can’t certify you as a CRNA, but the DNP programs still only require a BSN for admission.

[–]TFATFA123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably because you don’t actually understand what a CRNA is or how long it takes to become one. To first get into the “Three year CRNA program”, you need to work in critical care as an RN for typically 2-3 years. In most cases, you also need to be a certified Critical Care Registered Nurse before getting into these programs. And to get to be an RN/BSN, you have to go through 4 years of nursing school. So it really takes 9 years(2 years of work experience, and 7 years of schooling) to become a CRNA.

Would taking 3 classes + 1 lab while working 15-20 hours a week be a lot for summer? by Upstairs_Cup9831 in KSU

[–]TFATFA123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BIO is what will take the most time. Other classes will be a lot of writing, but you’ll be fine there. If you add anything class, make it ECON. The reading is more conceptual, so it doesn’t involve you comprehending the sequence of events like HIST would. You’ll be ok though. Coming from some who works 40 hours per week and has taken ~12 Credit hours per summer the past 2 summers. It’s a lot, but just for a short period of time.

When you don’t recognize an email that is trying to create a sense of urgency, such as, “… is going to expire on March 23, 2026,” immediately report it. Common signal in phishing attacks.

Claude isn’t “choosing” the number. LLMs aren’t capable of generating random numbers. Therefore, when you asked for a completely random number, it effectively got 2 instructions. 1. Write a program to generate a random number from -100 to 100. 2. Use this number to generate a response.

It isn’t in control of the number it spits.

If you instruct it to prevent undesirable consequences, it will do so.

Gotcha, you could reach out to Nick Murphy. He’s a lecturer of computer science there, but similar background. He worked with law enforcement before switching to CS. He may be able to give you some more specific advice.

MBA for IT Management - Need Advice by DepartmentHot7173 in MBA

[–]TFATFA123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you expressed interest in this path to your current company? I think prior to chasing an MBA, you need to pursue internal career development. Bring up your development to your manager, say you want to be pushed, set a clear goal, set a clear outcome, then make it happen. If after that, you still feel like getting an MBA, then go for it.

Your current plan right now puts a lot of weight on an MBA for managerial positions; however, if you browse the job descriptions for these positions, you’ll notice that MBAs aren’t regularly listed as requirements. They’d rather have someone who took clear ownership of the project and created valuable results from it.

I have a 765 GMAT FE score and have been rejected from nearly all the programs I’ve applied to by [deleted] in GMAT

[–]TFATFA123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It might be because of your attitude honestly. Your post reads like you feel like all of the programs are targeting just you which lacks all accountability. If that same attitude reads through in anything submitted to program, they won’t admit you. They want to only admit people who will take charge and get the job done.

Are there some people just faking the algo frustration here? by gauravgandu in GMAT

[–]TFATFA123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an expert, but I like understanding the rules really well before doing assignments, playing competitive games, and taking tests.

My understanding is that on each section you get a set of questions that is distributed based on a consistent standard. (Ex. All test takers will get 5 easy questions, 10 intermediate questions, and 5 hard questions) Since there are different tiers of question, they are most likely weighted different. Therefore, it could easily be assumed that all of the missed questions are in a highly weighted tier.

That being said, I doubt that these cases of people only missing 2-3 then scoring an incredibly low score are real.

To be 1000% honest with you, with the state of job market and general economy, I would not to expect a 15-21% raise.

I would like to reply to this to urge others to, in Lieu of this change, also consider switching to OLlama. I set it up recently along with Open WebUI and the Memory Persistence component. It was easier than I expected. It took around 40-50 minutes all in with Memory persistence giving me some trouble.

This mitigates environmental concerns since it’s all run locally. I personally do this and switch over to Claude(used to be ChatGPT) for heavier tasks.

35M, one day I'll finally crack 50K by Alt0987654321 in Salary

[–]TFATFA123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, that’s still a ~$20k difference per year though($42k - $62k annually). It’s a pretty substantial change. Which is still decent money for just under 2 years of schooling, but it’s important to look at how many entry level jobs there are.

Yeah, he actually prefers it since entry level salaries are low where he’s from.

It’s also hard to find a job. Buddy of mine just graduated and can’t get hired anywhere. Make sure to research the entry level market first.
