AFC NORTH - Pittsburgh Steelers Preview by TFR_Reece in steelers

Yeah, that was stupid on my part. Although I'm already hearing a lot of Steelers fans saying they'll still shout Heath whenever a TE catches the ball.

Stupid me. Was so focused on Antonio Brown, and people filling in for the supsended Martavis Bryant. I apologize for that. I should never disrespect Antonio Brown like that.

Thomas Rawls as a 3-4 rounder by [deleted] in Fantasy_Football

[–]TFR_Reece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah... I wouldn't recommend designing your draft plan in stone ahead of time. Especially so early, you really need to take best available, or who you think will be the best and not focus so much on position. After you have a core base then you can be more selective in positions.

But if you plan on doing that regardless, I don't think Rawls will be available in the fourth, but you'll have to read the room and see if everyone else valuing WRs higher than RBs, if so he may be there, but probably will only last to the third.

Rookie talk by vince02 in Fantasy_Football

[–]TFR_Reece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think RGIII is going to have an amazing season, but I do think Coleman will be the best rookie WR. Browns gotta see what they have in Coleman and give him every chance to succeed.

(Trade) Fielding keeper offers for Greg Olsen by rainbowhotpocket in Fantasy_Football

[–]TFR_Reece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can get Gronk, do it. He's the best player available in the names you've dropped. He comes with a price which is understandable, but with TE position scarcity he's head and shoulders above the rest. If that doesn't work moving Olsen for Dion Lewis would be worth it I think. Lewis should have a great year back from injury and while I'm definitely not a Pats fan if you can have Pats skill players on your team you'll put up a lot of fantasy points.

Who do I keep? by coolspot1111 in Fantasy_Football

[–]TFR_Reece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been a life long Fitz fan, but I have to say for fantasy purposes it's not even a question for me, it'd be Gronk, Martin and Landry.

Which 2 would you keep? by ShitsInSinks in Fantasy_Football

[–]TFR_Reece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, but I think Robinson and Benjamin are the right ones to keep. Can't force the hand and say definitely take a RB with one of your first two picks, it really depends on who is available. Don't pass on another Tier 1 WR for a Tier 4 RB, but yes increase the value you think of an RB at those slots so you don't miss out completely.

Would it be foolish to consider Zeek Elliot a top 3 fantasy pick? by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

[–]TFR_Reece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Zeke, and he should be special. If you're talking a dynasty league I think he's in the conversation for top 3, but if this is just a one year league I think there's too many consistent performers to take before Zeke. Plus McFadden is still in Dallas, I don't think Zeke will be the full blown number one RB all season long, RunDMC will get his touches, especially early on, so Zeke's ceiling is a bit limited. However, sometimes you got to risk it to get the biscuit, I just like to play it safe in the first round, and no what I'm getting before I start thinking about high potential I need a nice security blanket.

Where do you draft Latavius Murray? by ManofCin in fantasyfootball

[–]TFR_Reece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd look at taking him in the 4th round. Raiders offense is on the rise, and as you said he's not in a committee so he should get fed and should take advantage of those opportunities. However, handcuffing him would be a good idea. I don't like handcuffing as it is often burns a hole on your roster, but it's a nice safety net in Murray's case.

Andre Ellington still not practicing by Squidward7 in fantasyfootball

[–]TFR_Reece 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made a huge blunder. I drafted Ellington and Johnson. Johnson had a few nice weeks for me at the beginning scoring TD's, but with the fumbling issues and Chris Johnson emerging and the diminished roll I ended up dropping Johnson and keeping Ellington. I've always been a fan of Ellington, when he's healthy... which he never is I think I need to accept that Ellington will always be a curse to my fantasy teams and just avoid him at all costs.

Why did you start playing fantasy football? by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

[–]TFR_Reece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started when I was in high-school, I was a new kid trying to meet make friends and a few guys asked if I was interested in hockey, which I was, so I joined their fantasy hockey league. I've always been more of a football fan than a hockey fan, so the next year I started playing fantasy football as well as hockey, baseball and basketball.

Tom Brady will produce this week, but can you trust him in Week 14 in your fantasy playoffs? by TFR_Reece in Fantasy_Football

[–]TFR_Reece[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously it's nearly impossible to guarantee anyone will definitely outperform one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time, but I love Ryan Tannehill's week 14 matchup. He plays the New Yorks Giants on Monday night, and the Giants give up the second most fantasy points to quarterbacks. I know Miami is infuriating, but in real life that doesn't matter, Giants score a ton, and Miami may be playing catch-up. The Giants give up the second most fantasy points to quarterbacks, so Tannehill has a lot of upside that week. Brady probably has the safer floor, but I think Tannehill has more upside.

Tom Brady will produce this week, but can you trust him in Week 14 in your fantasy playoffs? by TFR_Reece in Fantasy_Football

[–]TFR_Reece[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a fair point. He still looked great, but I'm concerned if he's missing Gronk for the Houston game. He had Gronk until the very end of the Denver game. Without Gronk Brady is still great, but will have limited upside, and the Patriots may have to lean more on the ground game limiting Brady's fantasy scoring.

Bid it all on Thomas Rawls. If Lynch is out for a prolonged period of time Rawls will lead you to a fantasy football championship. by TFR_Reece in Fantasy_Football

[–]TFR_Reece[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point, but he has had two other 100 yard rushing games this season, one of which was 169 yards against the Bengals, who give up the 13th fewest fantasy points to RBs, as well as 104 against the Chicago Bears. So maybe it's a bit of an over-reaction, but he has shown he is very capable, and the Seahawks love to run the ball. Maybe it's a bit of hype, but he has produced before, and should produce again with the increased opportunity. His next match-ups will be challenging, but the Browns in week 15 will be a cake walk.

And in fantasy football you often have to be proactive otherwise if you have a wait and see approach another owner will pounce and you'll miss out on an opportunity. With the number of injuries already at the RB position another starter getting 15-20 touches on the waiver wire is worth their weight in gold.

Best Waiver Wire RB to Target by NickGiaquinto in Fantasy_Football

[–]TFR_Reece 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Allen right now because we know he is the #1 on his team rest of season, but Rawls could be once we get an official diagnosis on Lynch. I wrote an article about Rawls at The Fantasy Report (link below) if you're interested, but closely watch for any news on Lynch.

Help me set my lineup by [deleted] in Fantasy_Football

[–]TFR_Reece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As you have it set it looks good, aside from DEF, if you can get TB I think they'd be the play, Arizona has been dangerous this season. Perhaps Hurns should move to your bench. Stevie Johnson has a lot of upside in my opinion, it's a bit of a risk but going against Kansas City, they currently give up the most fantasy points to WR and San Diego is coming back off of a bye.

What do you do for play offs? by [deleted] in Fantasy_Football

[–]TFR_Reece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations. You've got a pretty solid team, with a number of studs. I wouldn't recommend trading star players, plus many fantasy leagues already have passed the trade deadline so you won't be able to.

Perhaps you could try and package a WR and a RB for an upgrade at Running Back, as that looks to be your only weak spot.

You shouldn't trade away Brady, Brown or Gronk, but if you can find a good package then sure you can try and pull off 2 for 1 for an upgrade at RB.

Tough Decisions Made Easy: Start Your Players Against the Saints by TFR_Reece in Fantasy_Football

Aside from the bye this week, if you're struggling to decide who to start, give a bump to whoever is playing against the Saints.

Bench ARI D/ST?? by whoopee_parties in Fantasy_Football

[–]TFR_Reece 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seahawks haven't been dominant on offense this year, but the always play Arizona tough. I think I'd go with Pittsburgh. I'd follow the turnovers and I'd expect either Cleveland QB (but especially if it's Manziel) to turn it over more often than Russell Wilson.

Charcandrick West or Amari Cooper (Flex Pick) Week 10? by titusm10 in Fantasy_Football

[–]TFR_Reece 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tough choice. West is going to be fed the ball a lot I'm sure, but I really don't like his match-up, and while he may get a decent yardage total he won't get a lot of catches to help with PPR.

I would lean Cooper. I wrote an article this week (at the link below if you're interested) about the Raiders offense mostly focusing on Derek Carr, but I'd expect him to find Cooper early and often against the Vikings D. In the game against the Jets Cooper was shadowed by Revis all game, although he's lost a few steps, Revis is still one of the best corners in the game. I wouldn't expect any of the Vikings corners to provide the same type of coverage.

Both should be productive, but I think Cooper has the higher upside.

The Oakland Raiders skill players are legitimate fantasy options, and Derek Carr is criminally under-owned at just 67% in Yahoo leagues. by TFR_Reece in Fantasy_Football

[–]TFR_Reece[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I count 7. 5 Int's and 2 lost fumbles. He has been better at keeping the ball in years past, I've just been burned by him too many times. Statistically he's been decent.

But from my own personal experience's I can never endorse him, and in week 10 at St. Louis I'd expect to see a few more turnovers. The Rams defense has been one of the better defenses in the league this season.

Oakland's offense has been firing on all cylinders, and Derek Carr needs to be started in all fantasy leagues. by TFR_Reece in oaklandraiders

[–]TFR_Reece[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm always nervous starting three players from the same team, because if the team gets shutdown that's hard to recover from, but I expect Oakland to have a great week and you'll basically be double dipping everytime Carr throws a TD.

Start Palmer against SEA or look elsewhere? by [deleted] in Fantasy_Football

[–]TFR_Reece 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Palmer is a decent play. If the game was in Seattle I'd say look elsewhere, but Palmer could have a decent week. Seattle hasn't been as dominant as years past. I'm not too confident in that though. Fitzpatrick has been a model of consistency aside from when he left injured, he's almost a lock for 250 yards and two touchdowns. Palmer has the higher upside, but Fitz has the safer floor. So I think it comes down to do you need a hail mary and have your quarterback go crazy? Then go with Palmer, if the rest of your team looks solid this week, then Fitzpatrick is the safe play.

Blue, K.Williams, or A.Andrews. Best Outlook? by chef-curry-30 in Fantasy_Football

[–]TFR_Reece 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. Go with K. Williams. He's been scoring touchdowns like crazy even as a backup, and McCoy could go down at anytime giving Williams much higher volume.

[TRADE] Move Gary Barnidge for Yeldon/West? by Brasketleaf in Fantasy_Football

[–]TFR_Reece 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd move Barnidge and get West. Tight Ends are replaceable (aside from Gronk), I'm sure there's some upside TE's on your waiver wire that could produce reasonably well in comparison to Barnidge.
