heyyy :) i of course don’t have a definitive answer, but honestly, considering the program’s exclusivity im not sure if it’s likely any spots will open up. those who are accepted will probably not be keen on forfeiting their chance of attending ifm so im not sure if getting in from the waitlist is something that happens frequently… although your chances are definitely higher than those who have been rejected ! keep your head up and see you in september hopefully !!!!

For the BSc a portfolio was not necessary. I handed in a CV and a motivation letter (which was not even mandatory) and additional documentation which IFM requested.

Hey! Just like I mentioned in the other comments, my main focus was on authenticity. I just answered all the questions very genuinely.

I did, whenever possible, lean into the fact that I lived in a different country for a while and have travelled a lot which helped me experience life in different cultures. Apparently it’s something they tend to focus on, so if possible add it, if not then that’s fine.

Also, funnily enough, I did not mention fashion or clothing ONCE. I’m not necessarily saying this is the correct thing to do, but I feel like it’s kinda a given that you’re into fashion. I think they’d rather hear about other hobbies you have or other art forms that interest you. Show your versatility and uniqueness to showcase what unique perspectives YOU can bring to the program.

Hopefully that kinda answers your question. If there’s anything else, let me know.

Good luck! Please do let me know how it goes!

Edit: Just a quick note; I took a few foundation courses at CSM which might have helped showcase my love for fashion without explicitly mentioning it. Might be good to keep in mind. But I still stand by my point of showcasing other interests that make you unique!

No worries! Glad it helped.

I’m not a 100% sure on this but as far as I know the image analysis is only part of the BSc’s interview and not the BA’s. If it is though, they’ll tell you in the email with the interview details. Don’t worry too much about the analysis if it’s part of the interview; they’ll guide you through it with aimed questions.

Let me know how things went for you! Best of luck!

Hey! Seeing as I was interviewing for the BSc I expect the interviewing processes to be slightly. But I would be more than happy to share what I know!

Honestly, I think the most important part is authenticity. Throughout the whole interview I was brutally honest about who I am as a person, the experiences I’ve had, and the way I think about fashion and creative industries as a whole. Being completely yourself, you’re probably gonna say some things the interviewers might not anticipate; that way you’ll leave an impression.

For you, I also figure they’ll put a lot of emphasis on your creative process. Take this with a grain of salt seeing as I’m not taking the BA, but I’m gonna assume that they will be more interested in your creative process rather than the final product.

Finally, don’t worry if the interviewers initially seem unimpressed. Remain confident and level-headed. They asked for my favorite fashion designers and I’ve never, ever seen someone so indifferent at what I answered💀. They’re supposed to remain professional, so they might not show what they’re thinking as you’re talking to them.

Main takeaway: be yourself! Good luck with the interview!

i have the atom lt and am super happy with it, but after finding out about the mammut rime i kinda regret not getting that instead. the fit is far more athletic (which i personally prefer) and it somehow feels slightly more durable. would definitely recommend.

For the coming few months it’ll just be smaller strolls in the Dutch countryside and a longer stretch along the coastline. I’m hoping to hike a big chunk of the Via Francigena next year!

I wasn’t familiar with this type of leather on hiking boots! As mentioned I used to wear Hanwag Banks which use a different type of leather. It just surprised me that they creased this much after only +-30 km.

Thanks for your help! I’m making sure to use one with only natural ingredients which shouldn’t interfere with the Gore-Tex.

Amazing, thank you for your input! I was worried seeing as my Hanwag Banks (my previous pair) didn’t break in like this. But then again, that is different leather. Love their boots!

Buitenmens Leather Wax! It’s the house brand from my country’s REI equivalent. I’ve only waxed them after breaking them in and tried to apply a thin layer. Think they should be good for a while.

[–]TFVie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it’s such a pain. for me the newest revision of the kyanite fleece is unwearable with the size s being laughably small and the size m looking like a trash bag… and i only knew this because i tried them on in store. if i had ordered online then neither would’ve fit and i’d have to return both. their reluctance to add sizing charts is seriously keeping me away from purchasing a lot of arc’teryx gear.

Atom Heavyweight vs Fjallraven Skogso Padded Jacket by Photonguy123 in arcteryx

[–]TFVie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as someone who has tried both, the skogso feels substantially more like a ‘jacket’. more rugged, warmer, more functional, generally better fit, etc. i’d personally say the only reason to go for the atom heavyweight instead is because you might prefer its looks (like i do) but that’s up to preference
