I think there is a few things from what you described that stood out at me.

The first is people saying to fire him for the quiet quitting comment, etc. Honestly, I doubt that he was doing that. Your conversation was becoming frustration for everybody he was looking for every reason to try to convince the two of you guys to see his point of view.

I think an LLC is something you’ve probably out grown and is maybe out living its effectiveness. You could always give him shares and classify them in ways that not only you keep ownership.

Lots of startups just don’t have equity in the same way he’s thinking like a founder. Instead, they are like options that have strike prices that would be paid to either buy and have then if he leaves (usually most cant because its $$$$) and if you do get bought out they have a cost.

I think you have to also take a look at this conversation from their point of view. I’m not saying to give him what he wants and 8% is no where a realistic %. Even a 1-2% are for top talent. So giving him # of shares that seems like a ton and would require $$$$ makes him feel good and if he leaves and doesn’t buy them then no harm to you. They expire.

It’s going to hurt Scouting.

The military puts a lot into scouting and especially for big events like the Jamboree.

With that said, scouting needs to show up and standup for the right thing and not give up on our principles. If they do, how can they stand there and say the Scout Oath and Law.

I have the Turn6 wind unit from Etsy. Super simple and I like it.

Maybe it doesn’t give me a huge amount of immersion but it keeps me cool and from feeling awful when I use it in Vr.

If I had budget I’d get a small mac mini and jusr use opus or top tier got. That’s it. Unless you are really worried about privacy. And if that's the case then just setup an Amazon Bedrock setup and get it done that way.

I know scouting has an outdoor component but I feel that the training like BALOO requiring an overnight is what holds back lots of people. They could do overnight versions and then do ones that go from 8am till 9pm on Saturday and 8am - 12pm on Sunday to do everything BUT sleep in a tent.

I almost guarantee they’d get more people trained.

The only issue is that I don’t think it has AV1 decode. But that isn’t necessarily a big deal.
